iPhone accessory for the Clubbie

My fellow clubbers (no not the type that goes to dark crowded place with loud music). I have a problem only you can help. I love using my iPhone in the car. For music, for navigation with google map. However, there's really no good place to hold the phone where I can see. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good iPhone holder for the car, either vents or something. Any help would be appreciated!

Glad you ask, I'm wondering the same thing. Also, any other "must-have" accessories us newbies should know about?

Perhaps this one if your iPhone doesn't have a case.

Or this if you have a case.

Thanks for your reply! Hmm this mount makes it so far from the cable, I don't think it would be able to be connected to the wires and to the car.

Edit

I found this, but this would mean I have to use the radio to hear my iphone, can't control it with wheel and will have interruption problems as with other radio transmitting accessory. :(

Do you have aux plug in your car? I found a similar thing on amazon w/out the radio transmitter if that would work for you but it sits in the cup holder and it seemed you wanted something at eye level?

Yeah, eye level would be best. I saw that cup holder thingie but I don't want to take up a cup holder either. Especially when my friends and I hit McDonalds and order 2-3 drinks :D

To use the Craven Speed mount all you need is an iPod extension cable. like this one.

Try www.proclipusa.com . While I don't have an iPhone, I have a similar smartphone and here's what the holder looks like in my Clubman. It fits on the dash next to the vent to the right of the radio and the aux in cable reaches it easily.

You know what I did?

I bought a cup holder arm iPhone cradle thing, small and effective, and then I had a 3$ case (soft rubbery) I attached/stuck to the cradle arm (instead of using the ugly thing at came w it) and presto!

I now have an iPhone cradle solution that is completely out of sight when I don't use it (it sits behind the hand brake tucked into the rear cup holder hidden by the armrest) and when I put the iPhone it's facing me at a slant! Love it!

If only I had a found a way to build an arm and cradle that would wedge in the triangular insets between the speedo and the vents....

Arkon IPM525-S iPhone 4 3GS 3G Car Floor Seatbolt Mount

This is what I have. The cables work, they are close enough and I love the mount.
