Chrome package install?

I'm thinking about getting the chrome rings for Lower grill and rear grill areas. Anyone know how hard they are to install? Looking at the pics on the board they look like they would just snap in or do you have to remove the grill pieces before attaching them. Thanks!

For the front lower grill all you have to do is remove the bumper and pop out the OEM grille and install the chrome lined grille. There are a bunch of little bolts to remove the bumper, but nothing too difficult.

I haven't tried the rear as I have a non-s, but I'd imagine the install is along the same lines of bumper removal.

I think your Clubman would be even better if you went the opposite way, a Blackout package.
Swap most chrome for black. One less color on the car to worry about.

But then your car would be like every other car on NAM The black out thing is getting old, and usually adds unnecessary contrast to the car despite lowering the color count by 1. There's nothing wrong with adding a little chrome...despite what the masses will say about their plasti-dip and black vinyl stickers

I love my subtle chrome accents. I added the chrome-line grill as mentioned in this thread and its one of my favorite accents to the front of the car. I could paint it all black I guess...but then there'd be no highlight design traits to accent the lines of the car...it starts getting bland if everything is dulled down and "murdered out".

And a comparison pic from when I did the install. Drags the visual weight of the car lower by adding a heavy highlight lower on the car and helps with the overall flow.

Yes...I love my chrome too. Rally, that just looks awesome.

As far as adding the exterior chrome line....I added it to my previous R56 in about 30 min. total for front and rear. It did not require removing the front or rear bumpers to do.

I'd say go for it!

Yeah I like the chrome, I was going to order the stuff and my bro told me not to. Think he already bought it for me for my bday next month lol. Spotted him looking over my grilles then a week later a big box from a mini parts store showed up.

That looks GREAT Rally...

I just bought my first Mini last month and it's a Hot Chocolate just like yours. Can I ask you how difficult was to install that grill? And where did you buy it?

Thanks!

I bought it from the dealer. Install was pretty easy. Only took about an hour and I was taking my time and just doing it casually. It really just involves removing the upper grille, removing the bumper, unclipping the lower grill, clipping in the new chrome grille, and reversing the steps.

Thanks Rally - But that actually sounds more complicated than my abilities

"Remove bumper"?... By myself?... No way!

I'll ask the dealer how much for installation, if it's more than $100 then I'll forget about it...
