2 weeks from ordering: Please tell me...

What you suggest as "must haves".... "wish you had..." or things like: "never do this".

My dream machine so far is: Clubman S BRG, black roof, dynamic traction control, spoiler, 16 inch wheels with all season radials, xenon lamps, heated seats, tuscan beige leather, sunroof, SIRIUS sat.

Thoughts? Comments?

I live in the Va Beach Virginia area and spend a lot of time around Asheville NC so I'm not set on any dealer so far. I'm going to send out a fax to about 4 dealers requesting an out the door price and go from there.

I've reached the point where I need to get this done!!!!

Well, check out my gallery and you'll see that we agree on the Tuscan Beige, xenon's, DTC and heated seats (my sunroof is a convertible top ). I had trouble picking which options to pass on so I clicked all four packages...and of course paid dearly for it

My musts would be the xenons, Tuscan and heated seats. I found the sports seats to be more comfortable for me with the adjustable lumbar support. Having the S was a must for me and I love the effortless pull/torque of this turboed engine.

I didn't get the sat radio but I hear it is really nice. You may want to consider the upgraded stereo.

Among my favs of nice to have...I laughed at the comfort access...until I had it and leaving the key in your pocket is really nice. The rain sensing wipers work very well - you don't have to fiddle with a delay setting - it knows what to do. The bluetooth syncs well with my iPhone.

I got the cream trim with the piano black and it looks good with the Tuscan IMO.

I recently added coco mats from www.cocomats.com and they are very high quality. I got the black with natural highlights and it pulls the Tuscan and the black trim together well. Not cheap, but they don't show dirt and footprints and to me they fit the retro styling of the MINI. I added Multivex side view mirror overlays and they help with lane changes.

Good luck on your MINI. These cars are a blast to drive, I mean Motor.

If it's you dream then don't let anyone else change you mind!

Must have IMHO: Sun roof, bluetooth, roof rails if you plan on carrying anything like a bike or going camping etc..., cold package if you live up north, manual, stripes.

Avoid: The OEM 15 inch boring wheels (I didn't and wish I did), the stereo upgrade (the car is small and the radio is loud and sounds great IMHO).

But like I said...it's YOUR dream and your dream so far looks pretty sweet to me!!! Good luck and congrats!!!!!

You might consider...

The one thing I would change if I could do it over again would be to order driving lights. Xenon's may not have this problem but my regular lights just don't deliver enough light when on dim. The driving lights require a new grill so it is a much better deal to add them from the get-go.

If you want them get the driving light and stripes on your factory order, cheaper than adding them later.

Something you'll notice on your first summer day, driving at high-noon...the sunroof has a "mesh" cover that doesn't totally block out the sun. This may or may not bother you.

Some of the sunroof owners have purchased sunshades that fit in between the mesh and sunroof for use during the summer. If you don't drive much during the mid-day, you may not even notice it.

Must have: the rain-sensing automatic wipers. The "regular" ones only have two speeds- (1) too fast, and (2) not fast enough.

two things: comfort access.. wasn't going to, glad i did. and if you can swing it... the aero package. I'm the only one in my town that has a clubby with it and i'm happy I did it. makes it stand out.

The Cold Weather Package is well worth it. Heated seats are great, heated washer fluid can be a life saver and the folding mirrors are handy, especially if you park on the street.

My car came with the armrest, which I honestly would rather have done without, especially considering it costs $250.

Great call on the color/roof combo

I have the HiFi sound system, but not Sirius. The radio and CD player sound great, but I can't vouch whether it is worth the upgrade. I had a free subscription to XM for a while in another car, but didn't use it enough to make it worth paying for.

Just my $0.02

Good luck with the search/order!

Your color-Interior combination = Killer combination

HD+HiFi radio is nice and matching Tuscan Beige interiors look great with the wooden steering wheel

I agree with gawannamini and RadioFlyer: "comfort access"

You might want to consider front/back mudflaps...I installed them on my 09 Clubby S and they look good (IMO).

I agree they look nice and will likely add them myself. It very well may be cheaper to do it after market though. The mini dealer in Manhattan charges insane amounts for an install but everything in Manhattan is too expensive.

Like a couple of others have said... If you even think you might want the xenon headlights, order them with your Clubman. If you want it done after delivery, it's upwards of US$1,500.00 to have them installed.

17" Wheels, you won't regret it and it fills in the wheel wells.

+1000 on the Comfort Access!
I also think rear fog light is a good deal. A little extra visibility coundn't hurt!
Package-wise, the Sport and Cold Weather packages come with useful accessories.

Another vote for the cold weather package. Regarding wheels, I'd stick with the stock ones and replace them with aftemarket wheels with real tires on them, unless you like run flats. Although if I lived in NYC, run flats might not be a bad idea.
