Is the R55/R56 engine supposed to come with a mini emblem on it? I have seen pictures of engines with with an emblem on the valve cover, but mine has none. Looks pretty naked and plain. Did they forget to stick one on?

 

good question, my 09 R56 doesn't have an emblem either. Your right, looks naked.

 

My '09 JustaClubman came with one.

The drunken Englishmen who forgot to put the MINI emblem on your engine seem to have been the same ones who put my entire car together.

 

Somewhere, there is already a thread about this. I have mine and my build was January/February '08.

 

You know, maybe the MINI boutique shops at the dealers should sell those in case you were unlucky. I bet they'd sell plenty of them. I have a 2009 Clubman and it has the emblem on the engine.

Picked my 09 Clubman in January of last year, didn't have an emblem on the valve cover so I just bought one off of ebay, applied the color coded applique, also purchased off of ebay, used a little extra silicone adhesive to the backside and that's it, simple solution.

 

I don't have one and the dealer never offered to put one on even though I mentioned it to them. :(

The emblem, according to RealOEM, was supposed to have stopped being put on after 3/08. My 4/08 car has it. If you guys want the real emblem (it is very nice). Here are the two part numbers, and I have no idea why there are two different ones.

I think they forgot it. I had a 2010 in today that had on it.

 

Mine has it. It's a R55 (Clubman S) built in August of '09.

 

Maybe Mini found out a major airline decided to leave 1 less olive out of the salad,and saved several thousand dollars as a result. Just a thought.Q
