We were told last week by the MA at Mini of Alexandria that the Harmon Kardon would not be available until December. Also that Pepper White is discontinued for 2010 and a new Silver White appearing. Trying to find what that looks like. I think we will wait and order in late November to get the financing and a car built in December with the Harmon Kardon system.

Here's white silver. It was a MINI 50 Camden color and an R52 sidewalk color for a short time.

I think a Clubbie would look terrific in that...sadly, it just doesn't seem practical from a carwash standpoint!

White Silver was available during the final year of the R52. It is a metallic light silver and would not be mistaken for a pure white.

Alphawave, you'd be surprised. White is the easiest to keep clean.
It looks clean from a few feet away no matter how long it's been since I've washed it.
Now, if you want a tough car to keep clean, try black.
Seems contradictory but it's not.
Take it from someone who owns both (black car new and not in pic).

Agreed. The darker the color - as in BRG, too, the more the dirt, rain drop marks, etc., show. My first MINI was an Indi Blue which I'd order again in a second, even though it did show up the "dirt" well. My second was PW and it never looked dirty... Briefly I was driving a BRG and it's stunning when it is clean. Pure Silver is really good at hiding the dirt, too.

Back to the main subject now.

I think it looks great, and I probably would have chosen white silver if that color was available when getting my car.

My '07 GTI is in "Candy White", which is essentially refrigerator white. It wasn't my first choice in picking colors (it was my last), but I didn't have much of a choice and took the deal for what it was at the time. I think it's one of the nicest looking colors for this car though:

I think most European cars look pretty sweet in good ol' refrigerator white..

I'll disagree to this statement. If you want a clean looking car at all times, silver is your best choice. Also hides scratches and damage the best. One of the reasons why I never liked white cars was because of their tendencies to collect so much dust/dirt, especially in the tail of the car. All you need is a light drizzle and your white car turns into black spots, it was such a pain... I won't disagree that black is tough to keep clean, but white isn't as easy to keep clean as you think..

One reason I chose Sparkling Silver was the fact that it blends with the color of my surroundings, especially in the central valley, where the dust from all the fields finds Pelle faster than the 'skeeters' and grasshoppers hit at 80mph. There is a layer of dust on Pelle every day there, and a white metallic would look dirty literally in a matter of hours. Agreed on black, though...I've never owned a black car because I see black cars..'nuff said. The black Clubbie looks terrific in the showroom, however!
