HD Radio or SAT Radio retrofit?

When I got my Clubman last year, I didn't order the SAT or HD radio, do you think my Clubman is pre-wire for these? How hard is it to retrofit it into my system?

Thanks

This same question has been asked many times a search would have found this.

99% chance the wiring is already there. Just plug and program. I.E. order the modules you want and install them your self and then bring it to the dealer for programing.

Good question Prost. Does anyone know where to buy either SAT or HD Radio? I checked with Crutchfield, who normally has about everything under the sun, and they had nothing.

Thanks.

Holy smokes!!! $1200 for HD Radio?!? FWIW, Microsoft is releasing a Zune (their iPod competitor) with HD Radio in September for around $250. While I know the majority of folks are into iPods, it's nice to know you have a portable HD Radio option.

Here's a link describing the features.

Please, no Apple flames.

Truthfully , I keep lookin for a MINI Cooper HD radio on Craigslist and E-Barf and still can't find one. I have a JVC HD Tuner and got it for about $200 a whilst back.

Unfortunatley, they are discontinued. But it works OK and plugs straight into the AUX imput. The antenna kinda suxors tho. You might want to find a used one of those, as I wont shell out 1300 clams for a radio.

I went to Best Buy for the SAT Radio...Install was clean...I have the SAT antenna sitting behind the other radio antenna on the roof...

I didn't have it hardwired...its plugged in the AUX jack...Went to Radio Shack to get a Dual DC Plug (GPS)...works great.

Sirius is cheap...I believe SAT Radio, parts, & installation was under $225.00...and the Best Buy technician recommended that I don't change out the speakers...If I was only going to listen to the Radio (Why spend more money) he says...use the extra money to MOD other things.

Yes, you can do plug and play...I'm not mechanically inclined.

Thanks, does that mean our Clubman is prewire for HD Radio?

HD Radio...I do not know...i just know that there's an AUX you can hook up your IPOD or SAT...But I would take it to a reputable installer or one of your "Mechanically Inclined Friends" ask questions, show them what you want to do. I took mine to a MINI event and showed my friends what and where I wanted to put the SAT Radio and they actually took the time out and showed me...that's usually the case in all MODS...

If I were you...I would go to a MINI Club event or local area MINI event and see what other MINI owners have done to their cars and you actually come away with more knowledge/advice that is free...Most MINI owners that I have met are good honest people that love their MINIs and they actually treat you as a part of a big family...MINI owners love your car as much as they love theirs...It's never my MOD is better than your MOD with cars...the younger MINI Owners actually have the most interest in MODs than us older MINI owners but they are the ones that are the most willing to teach us "Old Farts" the right path of MODS...and I listen to them because their advice can save me money...

Look in your secret compartment...I believe that's where the AUX input is.
