Clubman owner for a day - MINI gives me a woody
I wanted to try a Clubman loaner while they fixed my '09 MCS, and I got a JustaClubman with wood wraps. I like the BRG but the wraps are a bit much. But I just wanted to say the Clubbies are pretty cool! I like the extra space and third door, the double doors in back look good and work well. The visibility reduction is major, though.
My mother has been configuring MCC's so I took her for a spin, and I think she's sold. Bye bye Accord
It was also nice to drive a non-S model and note the differences. I'm glad I got the turbo, but for convenience sake the only hit is in passing on the highway, really. In sport mode around town it's certainly zippy enough for a leadfoot like me.

Glad you liked your "Clubman for a day" loaner. Pretty neato that they had one to loan out.
That's the first one I've seen with the woody look. Looks like they did a good job - I don't think it looks that bad. Different....

I can think of better things to do with $3K if you ask me

Glad you enjoyed the clubbie!! Thanks for sharing photos of the wood wraps,,, I wouldn't want them, I don't think but overall it looked pretty nice on the photo. As for the barn doors and the viz? You honestly adjust to it and after a while you don't even notice it. I have much better viz than I ever did in my Chysler Pacifica.

There is a Hot Chocolate Clubman with the "Woody " treatment @ Universal Mini as well. You can see the brush strokes made to simulate woodgrain very easily almost as if they were doing a cartoon. Paint job added $3998.00. Definitely not my cup of tea... But I truly like the Clubman more with the clean look it comes by naturally. Mine is growing on me all the time.
I will assume this was from Prestige in Mahwah, NJ because I was there the day they finished this. I was not aware that this was a loaner. I have to bring my car in tomorrow for service maybe I can get it as my loaner. Just for the heck of it.
My .02 its ugly as sin. Trust me it looks worse in person and I concur on the comment about having better things to do with 3k.

I have seen several non-MINI restored Woodies and some of the fake “woodies” people think are a good idea. WHY do they insist on destroying an iconic automotive style? Bucks up and do it right, one can put new running gear under and old car.
From the front, with the bonnet stripes, it sort of looks like they mixed up parts of two different cars.

I like the idea of a Woody, but I hate paint wraps. They always look like an advertisement car, to me. It was fun to drive a clubman, but the paint job is probably so no one wants to keep the loaner too long
For 3k they could have had someone add real wood sides to the MINI.
What next???? A SAV perhaps?
Is the roof on the "woody" clubman red? And what's with the black hood stripes? It looks like they got confused when they did this, it's such a mishmash........
I agree with the other posters that if they were gonna do it, they should have done it right, like the old Travelers or Morris.......
