Noisy/Rattly interior?

Hey all... question for you:

Do you notice that there is a lot of rattles and squeaks coming from your interior? Like the seams in your door, the seal around your top glove box, behind the drivers door below the glass?

I know it's not the quietest car in the world, but mine seems to be more 'above average' when it comes to interior noise level than I'd like.

Along those lines, I have a few seals/molding/chrome pieces that don't seem like a solid fit either. Like the horizontal chrome strip under the passenger window, in front of the c-pillar (it's kinda loose and I can press it in a good 1/16th - 1/4 inch) and my chrome strips on the running boards are pretty loose on the tips.

All theses things are on my list of "things to have the dealer look at when I take it for maintenance." Do those items even rate worth mentioning ti the dealer? I would hope so...

I have noticed rattles somewhere in the front door or dash, but I can't isolate it exactly.

No, thankfully, I have not.

I will say that I have certainly heard about noise and rattles in the regular hatchbacks that have been fixed so why not take yours in to your dealership and take the Service Advisor for a ride?

I would say turn on the radio and enjoy your ride.

Of course it's worth mentioning to your dealer, you paid good money for a NEW car!

My overhead unit seemed to rattle when it was newer but suddenly went away. However, for some reason a rattle on the driver side door just started tonight. I don't think I'll go to the dealer for it unless it gets unbearable(although I'm close to it) simply cause I'm not sure the problem can be duplicated and my busy schedule makes it hard for me not to have a car.

Every rattle I've had, and it seems to be quite a few, the dealer does their best to fix it although I can't expect perfection.

Yeah, I wouldn't make a special trip just for a rattle but if you're going in for something else mention it.

The sunroof is another good source of rattles. Another reason why I skipped it. My January 2008 build Clubman S is pretty solid inside with the exception of the secret compartment door that rattles on less than perfect roads. I atribute this to the dealer installed iPod adaptor that requires disassembly of that area of the dashboard.

Otherwise, very pleased with the build quality of the car.

My sunroof is as solid as a rock. Any rattles I attribute to the runflats. :P

I've been on just a few runs but I have put my Clubbie through the wringer on some of them. I can't believe how rattle free it still is after all of the stress I have put it through. Sorry to hear about your rattles but I'm still rattle free of them so far.

I have two buzzing sounds from the dash that come and go on my Clubbie. No biggie - will mention it to the dealer, but they probably won't be able to hear them.
