JCW Stage 1 Kit Now Available

Got a call from my dealer who says he just received a bulletin that the stage one kit is available for cars produced after 7/1/2008. I am not convinced I am going this route, but good to know the option is on the table.

Seriously? For the Clubman?

Can you dealer provide details of the bulletin?

Not for the Club-Man...yet.
This is just for the post 7/1/08 non Club-Man, being there were different muffler hangers on these models.

At least that's what I'm being told.

I have a clubman and the dealer specifically asked for my VIN to confirm. I am not sure why we would be getting conflicting info, but my dealer appeared pretty certain. I will send him another email tomorrow just to be sure.

I called the dealer today and spoke with the Parts Manager. He said his bulletin clearly states for all Cooper S and Clubman S models produced after July 1, 2008. Short of ordering it and finding its not true, I will assume he is correct and start to work on the wife. Maybe I can get a JCW steering wheel as a consolation prize.

Do you have a part number or anything for this kit? My MA seemed to think that it was not out yet.

Thanks,
Michael

Sorry, but I do not. I decided to hold off and purchased the JCW steering wheel instead. I can only reiterate what the parts manager said. I would speak with a parts guy if you can, as I find MA generally clueless about the products they sell, particularly the aftermarket stuff as its not really on their radar.

Okay, What am I missing here? I was considering the stage one kit if and when it is ever offered for a R55 automatic. The bulletin said it was not for a R55 but some on this Clubman thread say they are ordering it. Are we just buying the kit and leaving the exhaust system in the box?
And how do I get rid of this default signature?

This kit is only applicable to R56 and not to R55, see on attachment complete SB's 11122151432. I don't know you can use on R55, because exhaust is for R56

I am moving forward with ordering the Stage 1 kit. We will see if it truly fits the R55 Clubman or not. I am not going to get it if I have to shelve the exhaust and swap it later for a Clubman exhaust.

I just returnd from my dealer in Miami, it systems does show any Tuning Kit for R55, only for R56 and the exhaust won't fit in my R55, only option will be purchase everything separate, which will increase the value of $2100 for the R56 kit

What about buying the whole kit, installing everything except the exhaust, and then sell just the exhaust privately? It's got to be worth at least a few hundred...

Could be an option, remember you still will need to update this kit information on the car (via Progman) I don't know if your dealer want to do it, without the right P/N installed. If you don't update this info on the car computer will be waste of time and money, because the engine still will be working as a regular Clubman S
