grill badges

I know there are some issues with having to drill holes to mount a magnetic grill badge on a Cooper. has anyone mounted a magnetic badge holder on a Clubman?
Are there any issues? How does it look? what badges do you have?
I've decided not to fiddle with my engine or exhaust or anything, but i'd love to snap up my dark silver clubman with something.
thanks!

Did you miss this thread? https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ghlight=badges There's a link within it explaining in detail how to do it and another member has posted his experiences.

No problem, glad to be of help. I'm too chicken to take my grill off so for now, I've just stuck my current one on one of the barn doors. I may be tarred and feathered for admitting to this.

That's why I posted, I, too, am not willing to branch out that far!
This looks like you might not have to?

and they have a cool hoodie I'd like to buy, but I never order 1 thing at a time, seems like more is more logical for shipping.

The license plate adapter from the other link looks intriguing and like it mite be perfect for a coward like me.

That one might work for yours, since you have an S...but you'd better inquire first. I think the cravenspeed or the other one seem pretty good. I believe Rich10 has one.. Check out that other thread...with the different versions and you can PM him...or email cravenspeed or the other company.

This new product comes with a badge holder that attaches without removing the grille, just get on the waitlist to get the free badge module.

Nice solution for those that want to float some badges around their license plate. I'd actually rather have a single badge in the tow-hook location with the license plate in the usual location. So it's back to the grill, or Otra's solution. (Eek!)

Now, seriously, what is the danger about the small magnetic badge to the body of the car, especially if it is on the back where it is not getting hit with the onslaught of rain and wind, etc.?

Don't get me wrong, the badge holders are great and I put my name on CravenSpeed's waiting list.

Scratches and possibly differential oxidation. I suspect it can be safe-ish if both surfaces are carefully prepped. I read one topic where someone had put a gumball number on their car for a rally or something and was horrified when they took it off.

But mostly I was just riffing on your invitation to tar and feather

Thought you might be giving me a hard time after reading your post about the slot in the door pocket - that was a great one!

Off topic here but you might enjoy this..as it goes along with that "male answer syndrome" of the door pocket slot thread. http://www3.telus.net/bc_triumph_registry/smoke.htm

But back to the badges. I will be careful and maybe eventually buy one of the license plate badge holders. Perhaps Santa Claus will assist me?

P.S. I love your Cairn Terriers!
