R55 700 glass bill!
the cost of reducing comprehensive (alone) to 0 ded adds very little to your insurance bill and covers glass, hail , vandals , etc. i know it's too late for you but consider it for the future. i suspect it even covers rock damage to a light
Ouch.. yeah, not worth it to claim, most likely. My deductible is $200 and that was only $9 (a month? every 6?) more than $500.
It covered my freak shelf-meet-bonnet accident that required a re-paint and re-stripe of the bonnet last week.

700?? I took a rock chip to my 07 MC. I got a quote of around 350-400 bucks for replacement from the dealer. Given the clubman up front it pretty much th the same as a mc or mcs, 700 sounds like gouging. I opted not to do it as a repair kit filled it in nicely, isn't in my line of sight and hasn't displayed any sign of cracking.

Safelite Auto Glass does all the work for Liberty Mutual -- much more reasonable ($280 for mine last week) and probably similar or better quality, by my experience. CAVEAT: if you have a "rain-sensor windshield", that may be something you wanna have the dealer mess with.
It does cover rock damage to lights (tailights, headlights, etc...)
Yeah, just did mine. Rock, and then, well, a little extra bending on the ring and I had a good sized crack.
Euro 529.09 to replace it last night. $823.71 at the exchange rate for today. But that was honest-to-goodness BMW glass, at the honest-to-goodness BMW dealer.
Wow, the dollar sucks right now.

Safelite did mine for $280, and that was with a rain sensor. That was well over a year ago, and the non-OEM glass has actually held up much better than the original. However, I now have a $0 comprehensive deductible for future replacements.
I'm not sure about other states, but in NY you can get a "full glass" coverage option on your insurance policy. I have a $1,000 deductible with the full glass coverage option. It's much cheaper than carrying a lower overall deductible on comprehensive or collision.
It probably varies more by actual insurance company than it does by state. But then again, it could vary by state...don't know for sure. I know State Farm doesn't have a specific glass option, it is covered under the Comp deductible, which you have a choice of FULL deductible (meaning $0.00), $100, etc etc..
found out just what 660$$ will get you at jackie cooper mini.

Glass insurance...
I've had 5 windscreens and 1 side window replaced on 3 vehicles w/no deductibles or dings to my rate in the last 7 yrs - even @ $5/month I'm way ahead.
Also, w/most glass insurance you can specify where to have the glass replaced - if you want the convenience of a mobile outfit you can, or you can have it done at the dealership. It's all covered.

Here in Florida $0 deductible glass coverage is mandated by LAW. It is illegal to drive with a broken windshield here, hence, insurance companies have to replace the broken glass for $0 deductible at no extra charge to the owner of the vehicle.
Under Arizona law as I understand it, the windshield will be repaired at no cost to the owner, provided you've purchased the option in the policy of Comprehensive coverage (which will then include FCG without regard to the deductible) OR purchase the option of Full Glass Coverage (which some people apparently get because they don't want to get Comprehensive coverage).

I have a feeling that an auto glass replacement is cheaper than the dealer. Insurance claim?
