Agreed! The first dealer we went to was hesitant to give out freebies. The dealer we bought from gave us free labor for installation of 5 accessories, $40 off those accessories, nice rubber floor mats (not the boot though), key chain, and a bulldog stuffed animal.
Sales manager Paul Belair from Century Mini in South Carolina even told me that I would have to pay $1000 as a deposit before I could make an ATTEMPT to talk to the general manager about getting something under MSRP.
That's ludicrous! Did you buy from these guys or run away? We had to pay $1,000 to hold the car after we ordered it. (Some dealers ask for $500) We were able to negotiate free labor and some money off accessories before we gave the deposit. Our dealer (Westchester Mini in NY) was more than willing to talk prices below MSRP for cars that were on the lot.

I'd never deal with anyone who wants to run their sales team that way....I found another dealer that gave me a hell of a deal on a new JCW instead.
