So arrived Tuesday for MOTD.
hit a slick spot in road rear went around ended up in ditch.
Ran to outmotoring picked up used radiator and intercooler first trip, found out once back together I need a new auxiliary water pump, so back to outmotoring. New pump and coolant and I back on the road. FYI hood is popped to cool down for fluid check.
All in all, I’m out $600 for everything, this includes Mike’s help. I’m able to drive her home, and I’m ok. Waiting to drive home in the am just to miss any rain that’s coming, at this point I just want us both to make it back in one piece.
I received my new(to me) 2014 R55S last Monday and had to personalize it... Waiting on "Vroom" money for my 2009 so I can get some new wheels and at least an exhaust...

You wanna see/feel the most 😁 / unit $ mod?
Get the Mario S2 tune, oh you will feel it alright!
Got 4 powerflex exhaust hangers showing up today, stupid exhaust is hitting the cross brace from time to time. Schroth 4 point quick connects harnesses are coming tomorrow, if anyone is looking for a deal on a black passenger side with pads pm me. Going to get some well needed dragon therapy this weekend. Issue last time was the tires, I have swapped back and haven’t been able to get the *** end to slide like I could with the others. Should be able to get some great pics this weekend.
@Jason Cornelius Nice! Wanna come up and give my car a good waxing?
Nope 😁 one RAV4 and one Mini is enough. Takes me about 3 hours to do the whole thing to the Mini, RAV4 6 hours 😞 and wife seems to find a reason to drive it right after I’m done with it.
Annoying exhaust clunk on cross brace taken care of. Powerflex exhaust hangers, and yes I did all 4. It was harder to get the worn ones off than it was to get the new ones on, little bit of lube and push. Mini could have put the rears in a better place but all in all happy I did it and took about an hour.
Wife has been wanting a Mini for about a decade or two ever since her uncle gave her a drive in his gen 1. Picked up this one today and she's pretty happy!
2009, non-S, 6 speed and all things considered, fairly well optioned.
Paid 5,000 Canadian (plus taxes).
It's a fun little drive. Pretty peppy for what it is and the 6 speed helps in that department. Handles pretty sharp, but what else can you expect for such a light little car with what are relatively large tires on it (16's). Great condition overall, doesn't smoke except for a little puff if you let it idle a bit and then goose it (typical valve seal behavior, easy fix for me), engine is quiet and smooth except for the faint injector "ticking". There's only one Mini dealer in the province so I called and they checked the vin. Regular maintenance records right up to 2020, hasn't had anything major fixed on it. Few small things like sticky rear doors, etc.
It's mainly her car for summer ripping around, so it's fine as far as power and handling goes for her. She would have preferred the two door version for looks alone, but admits the Clubman is a bit more practical for her (we have two large dogs, 100lb and 140lbs) and the condition and price made it hard to turn it down. It will spend winters in the garage next to my Corvette convertible and fox Mustang GT. Atlantic Canada is hard on winter driven vehicles so we "tuck away" anything you want to last a while.
