H/C interior with British Green exterior

According to the website, the hot chocolate interior doesn't appear to be an option with the British Green exterior? Any thoughts on why not? Unless I'm picturing the hot choc leather all wrong, it seems like it'd compliment the Racing Green quite well?

That's certainly not available in the UK either. But I'd advise anyone thinking of speccing this to see it in the flesh first. H/C externally looks better in real life than I think it does in pics - especially with a body-colour roof and black "C" pillars (in preference to silver) - but I think the reverse applies to the interior. Tuscan beige looks good with BRG - I think!

It's not possible over here as well.

I have HC exterior + black mirrors + black C-pillar and full HC interior + max. wood + black headliner.

It's basically full option bar from a CD changer and a skyroof. (never liked sunroofs in Mini, to me the roof should be full)

It has sportsuspension, but on these pictures it looks strangely high. Probably because it's brand-new.

It seems there are several instances where Mini doesn't let you make a perfectly legitimate combination of choices. As far as I'm concerned, they should let you make any choice you want, as long as it's mechanically feasible. If I want a polka-dot exterior with a plaid interior, why should they care???

BMW has Individual GmbH, for custom orders.

I don't think MINI has that as well.

So it's not possible.

Well, my polka-dot and plaid comment aside, I really don't mean custom-made cars. I just don't get why the consumer cannot choose from any option generally available, as long as there is no mechanical conflict. Why, in deed, can one not order a chocolate interior with a BRG exterior? Or rooster red interior with a lightning blue exterior? Why does one have to settle for less horsepower to get night fire red?

Very nice William. And in a very English-looking setting. Where's that?

We ticked several different option boxes: I didn't fancy an S and sports suspension with the pot-holed roads around here and the sat-nav seemed very expensive compared to the excellent Tom Tom I already had. But I love my sunroof!

I'm from Belgium, which is above France, left to Germany and under Holland.

Petrol is about 1.45 euro per liter for Super 98, and we have VAT 21% and many more taxes..

And too many radars!!

But then again, Germany is next door

That's a serious bummer about no HC interior options w/ BRG. Sure, you can pair BRG with the Redwood Red for a nice Christmasy theme (), but the less garish green+brown combo is right out(). Which is too bad, because the Clubman I was going to get (in my mind, mind) was BRG/B w/ the HC leather.

*le sigh*

That's a nice looking Clubman! I'm especially liking those black wheels with the polished lip. Which ones are they?

FYI: If you got the sport suspension option looking for a lowered car, you're going to be sorely disappointed as it doesn't lower the car a bit. It does beef up the springs, shocks, and anti-sway bars, but doesn't lower it. If you want lowering you'll have to go with the JCW suspension, or an aftermarket solution.

You are suppose to buy one of each.

It is possibly that Mini will allow those color combinations in later years, making those changes associated with the release year. Also, it is possible that if you back out of the deal when the vehicle is already assembled, then someone's back color combination Mini will sit on the lot for too long. Who knows? I know I would have ordered MC if allowed. I wasn't going to wait until Mini brought it out possibly in the following year.

Thanks!

Those wheels are fully OEM, R90 Composite black.

At the moment the car sits a bit lower than when I picked it up, which is just about perfect for me.
With 17 inch rims it doesn't really need lowering, at least not on a Clubman. (which sits a bit lower in the rear than the R56 S)

BRG + HC Lounge can be ordered if your dealer knows how. I just ordered one and it was approved on the Dealer Vehicle Modification System. Delivery is in June, I hope I don't get any bad news. I don't think I will though, as I know that some have been delivered in S FL.

Best regards,
Terry

Uh, oh - I feel a firestorm of phone calls about to begin across the MINI world from clients to their Motoring Advisors who didn't "know how".

Yeah, maybe.

But until I have a car in hand, my post doesn't mean a thing. Let's wait and see what happens. I guess things could fall through, but I sure hope not. It is a perfect combo, I don't understand while it isn't readily available.

Well, Terry, I hope you get what you ordered and, seriously, if it's true about dealers having to be in the know - well, they should be. May I ask if there was an extra charge for this going outside the lines?

There was no extra charge, just the usual $2K for HC Lounge + $250 for the sport seats. I found out that it was possible to order this through a BMW connection, my dealer didn't know how to do it either. I really don't want to publicize the process until I take delivery. Like I said, until I have the car, even I remain a little skeptical.

The good news is that if it unfortunately falls through, we will get a beautiful conventional HC model. That brown is beautiful but my wife wants the green one and she will be the primary driver. To me, they both look fantastic.

So I'm keeping my fingers crossed....

Terry,

Now that I see you have your car can you give is the details on how best to convince our MA that it is possible. This has been my number one combo (with HC cloth) since day one, but ended up going with DS to get a color line I liked. However, I may still have time to change my order as it was only placed a week ago and is not yet scheduled for production

Thanks!

There is a BRG MCC with HC interior photos here on NAM somewhere, if my memory serves me right. It is in the pictures of Clubmans thread, I believe. I would check and see. Best of luck in ordering what you would like.

Found it for you. It can be done, now to find out how you can.

Using your MA's Order software, have them spec a BRG car and the HC interior. The computer will reject the combo but tell your MA to immediately re-submit the same order and the software should accept it. That's all that we did. Now for the bad news, I've heard that Mini in England will no longer accept these orders and they will manually reject it. Whether this is true or not, I don't know so try it and see what happens. Good luck!

Regards,
Terry
