What Luggage works best in Convertable boot

Any tips on packing the convertable. I'm thinking soft duffle bags would probably work best in the luggage compartment. I really don't want to fold the rear seats down, it'll mess up the whole look of the coop.

Seeing as how space is limited.
How do you pack, and what are the essentials that stay in car.

First, remember - MINImalism...you don't need lots of STUFF!
For me,

Essentials all the time:
Towel.
Sunscreen - stick style is handy as your hands don't get greasy.
Shades.
Hairbrush.

Winter:
Earmuffs, blanket.

Nice to haves:
Brush for dusting off the cloth top.
Plastic or cloth sheet in case you have to carry dirty stuff.

Duffles work best - as long as you don't mind your stuff getting a little squeezed.

If you only need room for two - seats down and wind deflector in, you have a nice semi-covered space back there.

If you need room (and stuff) for three or more, I recommend this.

But we're learning to pack light!

+1 for the soft duffles

. . . and this thread has plenty of discussion regarding which items should be in your cabrio at all times:

We just took a week long road trip (me, the Mrs and 17 year old son) in our MCSC. We fit two duffels + small cosmetic bag + fanny pack in boot, and the other duffel sat behind the pilot's seat. A bit cozy, but lots of fun!

A toothbrush, a change of underwear and a credit card.

Should I wrap my toothbrush in my underware?

My mother always said "make sure you have clean underware in case you get into an accident" :impatient

We found that 2 duffels work great under the wind screen. Then our travel booty in the boot.

One of the joys of traveling with the MINI is that the trip to the room with the luggage is pretty easy.

Lets see, a bucket with the car washing stuff, the car cover, one pair of nylon underware suitable for washing and dying by morning, a tooth bursh, a towel. There is really no need to change clothes every day . . . .
