Recommended Wax

Hey All,

I have a 2006 "Hot Orange" Cooper-S convertible. What is a good recommeded wax or detail solution to make that shine give a "POW" effect?

It's not exactly a wax, as it is some new synthetic polymer stuff, but the new Turtle Wax ICE is really nice. goes on very easily, and doesn't leave chalky wax residue in the cracks or especially on plastic trim.

Most of the new polymers are free of that yucky white trim marking. I'm partial to the Zaino products, but others like the NXT and ICE as Yucca mentioned.
Really need to check out the Detailing forum for some in-depth info and opinions.

I'd reccomend Meguiars NXT Tech Wax. If you are looking for a synthetic sealant, I'd recommend Meguiars Synthetic Sealant #21 .

This picture below is of a MINI I detailed. I first polished it with Meguiars #80 Polish, and then applied NXT Tech Wax.

It depends .....If the very best gloss is your objective then do a search on here and start learning all you can about detailing

If you want a easy no hassle product with great results........Then get the meguiars NXT.....It doesnt last as long or shine as well as other products but you spend a fraction of the time and money to get there!

There's really a variety of great products out there. Right now, I'm working mostly with Zaino, Griot's Garage "Best of Show" wax, and Menzerna's FMJ. Any of these give stellar results.

'531,

What chain store sells Meguir's Synthetic Sealant? I bought the NXT wax, but I could not find the sealant.

People seem to go with Zaino, Klasse (my personal choice) NXT, and now Turtle Wax ICE seems to be showing up. Study up and pick what's best for you. Go with the best product you can and your efforts will last longer, look better, and give you more satisfaction.

I used the Griot's with a random orbital polisher the other week with GREAT results:

I finished off with Meguiar's Gold Class wax, and I've been VERY happy with it. Heck, just running a clay bar over my (2 month old, meticulously clean) paint helped a LOT with the shine, so you might want to consider that as well. Clay barring removes the crap that would otherwise be trapped beneath the wax (tar, dirt, acid rain, etc.), dulling the shine over time.

Most people in the Detailing forum (lots and lots of good info on stuff like this in there BTW) seem to prefer the NTX over Gold Class, but I've been very pleased with it so far on my Hot Orange... I want a good look without having to spend hours on applying multiple wax layers in certain comboniations though. I'd head over to the Detailing forum if you really want to learn about every last facet of keeping your car clean.

None that I know of. Although you can special order Meguiars stuff from nearly any of your local stores that carry the Meguiars line. However, If you want a sampler of the synthetic sealant, let me know via PM. I have about a gallon of the stuff.

FMJ if you want a good sealant. Z2 pro is also good.
Pinnacle Souveran if you want the best look.
Neither of these stains plastic trim. Big plus!

Paint prep is THE key.
