Blue Cabrio Top Wear - Looks bad after only 6months

My blue top has some wear spots and the car is only 6months old. They are worn areas on the upper sides, some are permanent wrinkles, others are wear that look like the convert frame is pushing too hard againnst the top.

Anyone else with a blue top have similar problems? Any luck with getting the dealer to replace?

I am having the same problem from my 3 month old black top. There are 2 wear spots on the sides just above the back windows, and there is a small hole in the back corner of the inside liner. The liner on the other side has a wear spot in the same place.

If you go to the dealer - they WILL replace it. There is a service bulletin out - don't know the number, but the dealer won't offer to replace it unless YOU initiate a complaint....

Oh, I plan to complain. The only problem is the dealership is over 130 miles away. I don't make it by there every day.

Wear spots too

I have the wear spots too, but my car is an '05. I got it pre-loved at the end of June this year. Seems the spots have gotten worse since I got the car just two months ago though. I really think eventually it's going to wear a hole in the top.

Hi

I'm going tomorrow to do the claim for the roof wear.
My MINI dealer is about 90 Miles away and not too friendly.

Go to www.mini2.com and do a search
there are like 5 threads on this subject.

(reference #54 34 90 69 00.)

"Underneath Remendy it has listed " The following measures are only to be carried out in the event of a customer complaint if pressure & chafe marks are apparent in certain areas". It then refers to diagram showing 3 areas that most of us had experienced."

Do not give in & ask for doc ref above with title:
"Chafing and pressure marks on convertible top cover".

hope this helps

I have a green top nad experiencing the same roof wear. I have asked my local dealer and inform that there is no note on a roof replacement.
