I finally got my R99's on the MCSC today - I really like them. Here are a few pics - in the last pic you can see the sun as its about to set in the Gulf of Mexico -
Spend all that cash on wheels and then you remount the runflats. Interesting.
Its my first mini, and I've never had runflats before, so I figured I would see what all the fuss is about. My wife drives the car to work every day, so I didin't want her to have to deal with flats. If the tires really suck, I'll get rid of them and try something else. I might actually keep my R91's and put some track tires on for Sebring, as the R91's are actually lighter than the R99's by about a pound.
I've been considering getting the R99's instead of the web-spokes that come with the sports package, and I'm wondering-- Is it possible to polish the lip on the anthracite R99's?

Or you could get the polished ones and powder coat a portion to the color you want

Very nice. I'll be on the coast this Sat. Going to Clearwater for a Skyline Chili fix. We are doing a small trip with the 2 'wild dogs' . They love to ride, but they are so small we are taking the Sebring so they can see out. Maybe I shoud find a platform for the Mini so they can see out. Too bad the back windows don't roll down. The one dog especially likes to hang his head out.
I once drove from St. Louis to Cincinnati and back one evening just for some skyline chili. My wife was in residency at the time and was working a 30 hour shift - she just got a brand new Jetta VR6, so I figured is there a better way to kill a few hours and test the car? They sell skyline frozen at publix here, so I make a 3 or 4 way every week or so.
I like the R99's on the DS, but I almost think they look better on some of the other colors, as the anthracite looks almost body color on the DS. They look amazing on red Mini's -

There's something about going to the place that can't be beat. We can get the frozen stuff (like we can get frozen White Castle's, but that's another story) but it's not near as good.
Now if we could just get Graeter's Ice Cream.......
That looks horible. You should take those wheels of right now and ship them as far away as you can, like Californina. I have some space in my garage that I could hide them in.
