2006 cooper s convertible got wet, now top not reponding

hey everyone, i am a new mini owner and this is my first post to the forum.

i have an 2006 cooper s convertible. it got rained on a little with the top down parked in the driveway before i ran out to close it. i started closing the top without turning the car on and the top got mostly closed and then stopped. right now it is all the way down with the latch unlocked and the 'sunroof' open. the open/close button does not respond. when i shut the door and lock it, the conv. top button flashes red for 20 seconds or so then stops. i checked the micro switches in the trunk and they all seem pressed down correctly. i tried disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes, opening an closing the windows twice with the overhead window button. this had no effect. the two fuses in the driver side cabin area for the top are both fine/not blown.

I could use some advise and hope there are some tricks to resolving this.

Any other strange electrical problems with the car, and how wet is the passenger floor/side panel area? The body control module that controls a bunch of stuff is mounted there and bad things happen when it gets wet.

Behind the side trim panel by the passengers right foot. Location pic and info on the module and its' functions here:

Not sure if it covers the cabrio, but most of the info, if not all, should apply.

Hey, welcome to NAM. Sorry first post had to be this

How little rain was it ?

Puddles on floor / dash and controls get wet or a 15 second very light rain.

I would pull the switch panel for the roof top and check there first for moisture....I highly doubt enough water from a 10 min light rain got to the BC1.

Check up near the buttons ( switch panel ).

Great info here. The button panel is in the video main pic.
