how to remove front and rear bumpers?

I was wondering if there are any good videos out there showing how to remove my 06 R52-S A bumpers.

I would like to remove the rear to eventually add a hitch for a bike rack.
I would like to remove the front to replace the damaged chrome piece.

Trying to save some money and avoid paying someone for the on and off processes.

Thanks.

There are how to threads on here to do that, but also a good reason to own a Bentley Manual as well. I just happen to have one I could sell you.

Do you have a particular hitch in mind? If it was designed specifically for MINI, expect the vendor to provide complete installation instructions. For example, http://www.mnidomore.com/pages.php?pageid=7

No need to take off the bumper. That part of the grill on the bumper is attached with double stick tape (no fasteners). Simply pry it up starting at one end. It is strong automotive trim tape and at first might not feel like it will separate, but just keep trying.

Thank you...I believe the chrome part I need is #7 in this diagram.

http://parts.seattlemini.com/a/Mini_...t/51_5800.html

Also, my number 5 is also damaged, which I believe can come in chrome or base / paint to match. The chrome would be for cars with the chrome exterior option but I'm going to add the chrome piece, to avoid painting the new part.

any tricks to removing these "taped" parts...I struggled just to remove my cup holder sticky tape....is this going to provide more resistance?

Thanks.

thanks...I can see the stick / tape of the secondary smaller piece but not the larger, it looks like it has tabs.

are you certain they both are "stick on"?

#7 has circlips on the back you can use off the old one #5 clips in.

how do I get to the back of #7 when installed to remove the "circlips"?

how do I get #5 to clips to release?

or does this matter since I'm removing damaged parts....can I just pull till the parts come loose, possibly breaking more in the process?

Or could I damage the receiving points for the tabs by the "pull hard" method?

Thanks guys.

There are no clips. The tabs are for alignment only, not fastening.
