Rear Bumper Removal

Am installing my AERO rear bumper and want to find step by step instructions. Ive looked around on several posts but they all just say to remove 2 screws. Any more detailed instructions??

It really is very simple. check www.realoem.com for where the mounting points are. They have diagrams that will show you where to look.

Thanks Chris,
it was mentioned before that there might be some adhesive used. I dont see any reference to it a realoem. Is there some adhesive used??

It was 4 screws, one bolt, and four clips. But I managed. The front bumper is ALOT easier.

Could you point out where the screws are? And, does anyone know if the bumper needs to be removed to swap out the trim on the sides (putting the Euro trim on)

i dont know u got ur euro trim from the same place as me but it worked on the front then i tried doing the rears and the trip pieces dont match up at all... might wanna check it out before you go through the trouble.

The following applies to an R53.

Remove a 10mm nut from the aft portion of the rear wheel well molding on both sides. (2)
This will alow you to access a trim screw under the aft end of the wheel well molding
Remove the trim screws. (2)
Remove the push/screws at the two lowest locations inside the aft wheel well, aft end. (4)
Remove one 8mm body bolt from the bracket under the bumper just to the right of the exhaust. (1)
Remove 2 phillips screws inside the lower tailgate bumpers. (2)
Now pull gently to loosen the bumper. (be aware that there is a metal crimp bracket at the top center and a lip that extends under the body panels on both sides.)
You will still have two or three electrical connectors to disconect.
Two at the side markers. (2)
and possibly one at an optional rear fog light or backup light. (1?)

(11) fasteners and (2 or 3) connectors........

w00t thanks for this. Should have some coilovers coming soon and am going to install the euro trim then.
