My passanger window wont go up. Help

My passanger window wont go up! I've tried hitting by the speaker, holding the button for 20 sec, disconnecting the battery. It started by sometimes going down slower then usual, but not all the time. Today I lowered the window and it took forever to lower but now it won't go up. Any advice?

Definitely the window regulator. Take your time and you can replace it yourself. Rear seat, side panels and a few other things have to come out to get to it. Pretty simple but takes a lot of patience.

Yes the window regulators can stick over time and need replaced.

What year convertible do you have? There is a split year in 6/2005 on the parts.

Also are you talking about the passenger front or rear? Convertibles have the smaller rear.

The regulator will look similar to this for the front passenger.

Thanks and let me know.

I hope I am mistaken but you probably need to start setting aside $$ for a new regulator.

Yes,

Just need the production date, its on the door jam. Month and the year.

Front right:

You can see there are one to 6/2005 and from 6/2005:

http://www.ecstuning.com/Mini-2006-C...terior/Window/

Which gives you many options.

Let me know and I can get the correct part number for you. Fix it now and you will not get stuck with the window down.

Thanks

My advise.... Don't use the window anymore or else is going to stay in the down position again, I have to fix mine, it got stuck then it worked with the bang then stopped working again at one point I was able to pull the window up so that it would seal and close completely otherwise the road noise is unbearable. I'm not sure if I just need the motor or both regulator and motor but the dealer wants 600+ to fix it so that's not happening.
Does anyone know if I'll need to replace both?
Thanks

Depends on whats holding up the movement. Most of the time its the regulator as they bind and jam. Other times it the motor which just quits. If you can here and tell if the motor is trying to move at all, most likely its the regulator.

The few times that it came back to life after the Bang theory lol, it did work for a very short period of time, I used to hear the motor trying to work and now I don't hear or feel anything, the bang on the door does not work anymore, I'm sure that I can do the job myself but not being sure on which part I should order, also after the bang it went up and down but very slow as the OP.
I hope that it makes sense
Thanks for any input

Regulator first.
But, with your situation it might be better to get both, sounds like there is multiple issues and without looking at it myself or pulling the motor off and running a 12v power source to it and changing the polarity to see if it winds back. Are you able to inspect the motor?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, I should be able to inspect it, although I don't have the time now and since is cold out I'm not in need to use the window much but I will inspect it and see if I have a clearer picture of what's going on, there a few things going on with my car and I have solve them one by one
I think that the best thing to do is order both parts and make the job easier, do you sell the especial tool for the window? I know that there is another method but it would be good to have that for the next window that fails lol.

Thanks a lot for your help I order my alarm from you guys and it was a snap even though I didn't installed the stalk but ill do that next.

This is the window tool you are referring to. To set the gear nut on the window / regulator connection.

Thanks
