Convertible top squeals while operating. What should be done?
2005 MCS convertible, 47000 miles...
The top squeals while going up/down. I thought it only squealed on hot days, but apparently it's doing it just about all the time.
May be this is a warning... or indication of something about to happen? Like cable breaking or pump failing or something?
Is there a procedure of lubricating it?
Any comment/help appreciated.. thanks.

Mine has squealed since day 1, to no apparent ill effect. It seems to be just rubber sliding against rubber.
I hesitate to do anything to the rubber as it would seem likely to cause it to degrade faster.

Same here for the past 4 years. I give it a shot of Liquid Wrench Dry Lube on the scissor joints once in a while. Seems to quite thing down a little but not much. The only other lube that I would consider for that type of application would be Lubriplate.
