Best cold air kit?

Recently purchased a 2005 mini vert non s for my daughter. Was wondering what you all think is the best cold air intake kit out there for these cars?

No true cold air intakes, but WMW's is widely considered the best

Appears to be good for about 5hp and 5tq at the wheels, plus it sounds good.

Thanks for the web site. Looks good with a decent price. Also what about the plug in thing to help with acceleration or pedal response. Is that bolt on worth it?

I recently ordered an aFe CAI for my '06 Cooper. I was really torn between the WAY/DDM intake and the aFe intake from VAC Motorsports:

http://store.vacmotorsports.com/afe-...ini-p2563.aspx

I found in my research these were two of the favorite kits. I went with the aFe because I prefer the look of the cotton "lampshade" filter over the foam style, and because I was able to track down some sound clips of it and liked the sound. Both will be great, and there are other options available as well, of course. Mine hasn't arrived yet, but I will post a review when it is installed.

As for your second question, you are referring to the Sprint Booster. There is a Group Buy for that right now here on NAM through EuroSport Design. I have ordered one and I am really looking forward to a more responsive throttle. You can find the thread for the group buy here. It is a great deal in my opinion.

Thanks for the fast responses. I've always enjoyed the bolt on process. Have owned several 500 hp cobras with bolt ons. Just trying to add a few to this mini for the daughter and maybe alittle for me. What about cat-back/exhaust? What fits best and what sounds best? Don't want loud with normal driving, but opens up with hard acceleration. Again, thank you all for he responses. This mini is all new to me.

Start with the intake, we've found it to be the biggest bang for the buck on the R50, that's why we partnered with DDM to design the WAY/DDM intake, plus the throaty noise you get is awesome.

After that I'd start thinking about a rear sway bar as the next biggest bang for the buck.

Stiffer rear sway bar reduces body roll and makes the car feel more solid and responsive in the corners. For ~$200 it really changes the driving experience for the better. I am happy with my 19mm bar from Alta, Way can hook you up too.

Yes a rear sway bar will reduce understand and improve the handling more than any other part. We recommend the Hsport 19mm for your car.
