R52 my car on mc2 magazine
Thanks for your kind comments.
The front grill and bumper and all is the factory Mini aero kit on a full JCW car. The only thing out of the ordinary on the front of the car is that the front emblem has been removed and the holes in the hood filled and the trim rings around the headlights have been painted black. Otherwise it's a factory JCW with factory installed aero kit.
There are a couple other details that you may or may not have picked up on. One is that the car does not now have the chrome side marker grill with the red 'S'. I bought the standard Mini grills (black plastic) and then had them painted body color. The other is that I bought an extra pair of door handles and one night at my garage workbench, I spend the evening actually peeling off the chrome. (Yes, it actually peels off once you get it started. 'Took a while, though.) Once I'd done that, I gave the white plastic underneath a light sanding, cleaned it with rubbing alchohol, masked where necessary and then had the body shop paint those body color as well. From the side, and ignoring the wheels and red brakes, the car is kinda stealthy. In the rear I simply removed the "Cooper S". It would have cost another 4 or 500 to remove the rear emblem and fill the holes and repaint the boot, so I decided to wait.
Cheers!
