I've heard that the company was considering a change of name to MIDI.

Bigger is not always better. I purchased my 2010 R56 because of its size. It will not be replaced by another Mini (Midi, Maxi).

They want to grow the business, so they come up with something more "marketable" and at the same time alienate the very thing that made the brand unique. Have your cake and eat it too? sorry, but no, MINI/BMW.....

So, I assume there's some subsection of MINI owners that is going to look down on those of us who bought one of the "larger" MINIs like the Hatchback 4 Door, Clubman, or Countryman?

(Note: After driving a Forester for 6 years, the F55 still feels tiny on the road, to me at least.)

Of course! It's the same sort of folks who came up with the term "Justa", and who thing the F56 is an abomination, and the R56 was the WORST THING EVER, and on and on and on.

If you can live with the car, that's cool. If it puts a smile on your face when you drive it, that's what a MINI is supposed to do! Just motor on with your bad self and ignore the naysayers.

(PS--the four-doors are TOO BIG FOR ME! )

More likely to get grief for driving a Forester! Who cares what other people think.

I don't see why newer and bigger models can't coexist with a "traditional" Cooper. A friend has a brand new Countryman, and I think its totally cool, and he digs my R53.

A few years ago, the Forester was rated as the 4th best car for picking up women (by other women, but who's counting?)!
