Opinions on what our mini is worth
05 Mini S convertible. Dark silver/gray with black leather interior, sport pkg, xenons. 11,500 miles. Excellent condition. kbb says $21,000. Seems a little high. Whats a good selling price? thx
It's probably not high at all. You're selling an essentially undriven car with some good options. Buy that package new is $31k at MSRP, and 11k miles is nothing. I'd put that on my car in a year. Depreciation estimates on the Minis seem to be about $2k a year...of course it still depends on finding a buyer. But you could probably be pretty close to that on trade in. Some of the folks around here are trading in their Minis with pretty good residual value.

Unfortunately though...the KBB value means nothing if you don't find a buyer. I got a great deal on mine when it was less than a year old with 8000 miles on it, only because the seller could not find a buyer that could drive a manual.
Mini value
I just paid 16,800 for a 2008 Mellow Yellow convertible with 65,000 on it at a Dodge dealer.
Automatic
Leather (I think) seats, heated
Heated mirrors and washers
OBC
Backup alarm
Security alarm
Stabilty control
Fog lights
New windshield
New brakes
New tires
Tire pressure monitor
There may be other stuff that I haven't found yet
I think I did OK. Not great, but OK
Drives great, like on rails after 8 years in an Astro van
Wife loves top down.
Dennis in Maryland
The Krusty Old Phart

Ain't that the truth - in other words your car is worth what you find a buyer willing to pay and not a cent more.
If you sell fast many folks and maybe a little voice in your own head will say "price was too low." Listen if you want to go nuts.
If weeks after putting the car on the market you've had no calls it is reasonable to suspect the price is too high for your market..... On the other hand you can always come down on your asking price...but it is unusual to be able to increase it. The variable is how much time do you want to spend selling?
In my experience places like CARMAX will buy at Kelly trade-in value. Not a great price but very effortless.

Not a lot of encouraging words here! I reached the conclusion recently that as much as I love this car, I need something larger. I'm too old to be folding myself into the little devil! The Edmunds and KBB pricing seem to indicate that if I trade it in, I might be lucky enough to pay off my loan...
In Southern Cali price would be between 16-19K depending on how well it looks and how many Minis are sold by others at the time.
Prices fluctuate a lot and as others said - KBB doesn't mean much if no one is giving you what you want $ wise.

A bit of a late reply but I've got the same car, same yr and same mileage and $21,000 is right in the ball park. Up here in Eastern Canada we used to be run about 2 to 3 grand more than you guys in the US on vehicle prices, but with our dollar staying up over the last 5 yrs, the prices tend to be almost exactly the same............on used vehicles especially.

I just purchased a 2007 mini cooper S convertible with 12,500miles for 16,500. Options are leather, sport package, traction control, automatic. I think I stole the car and had to fly to Oregon to purchase
Just a bit over 1 year year ago, I bought an 06 cabriolet with 12,500 miles on it in Southern California for 25,500. I thought I got a pretty good deal as it was in new condition and had always been garaged. Of course, it had a few options. Like:
Harmon Kardon
the high end climate control
cold weather package
leather
heated seats
actually, every possible option save nav which I really didn't want (I like the center placement of the speedo)
Oh, and every possible JCW option:
Engine
Exhaust
Suspension
Brakes
front strut tower brace
LSD w 6 speed
carbon fiber hood scoop, shift ****, mirror covers, rear license frame and horizontal trim above license
Plus the full aero kit front, sides and rear
And 18" black JCW wheels
And a nice black anodized tow hook for the front.
I still love the car.
