Some of you may be familiar with this rattle. It's located underneath the "one-piece" dash. It's only noticeable over very rough roads but it is extremely annoying since rattles drive me mad Has anyone tried to remedy this? I'm willing to bet it's more complicated than it may seem and likely not worth the trouble. The TSW X-brace DID remedy the occasional dual sunroof squeak (and improve overall ride, handling and steering response ) However this particular rattle is something different all together.

Mini drum kit?

That's a pretty sensational rattle. Something not put together properly after pulling the dash apart? Aftermarket radio install? What year is it?

sounds like MINI_42 is thinking the same thing as I am.

 

2008 MCS with 108K. The dash has never been taken apart, interior is 100% stock. It only rattles during certain vibrations, not all the time. It's only this loud because I'm pounding on the dash, but annoying nonetheless.

 

That seems like a major defect if nothing has been modified.
