how was it damaged?

reason I ask is I BELIEVE there is a law that makes the warranty on 'restraint systems' way longer then the basic warranty of any car. I recently took in a Honda for an airbag fault light and they replaced the seatbelts under such a warranty - no cost.... some sort of a sensor was in the seat belt so it had to be replaced to clear the fault. No, this was not a recall item.... they referenced a longer warranty for restraint systems.

Never hurts to ask . . .

I had forgotten about this thread, sorry. My dog chewed on it. It's just some teeth marks, but I'd like to fix it up.

The cheapest would be to salvage the part from another Mini from a junk yard.

By fix it up, you mean you're going to buy Recaro seats and new harnesses? Good call.

Seatbelt warranty

I think the required warranty on seatbelts is ten years/unlimited miles. That is what it is in 2009 Altima Hybrid.

If the part numbers between the Cabrio and hardtop are the same I will have a set going up for sale in a few months.

On my MINI, the previous owners dog, Gus, chewed on both rear ones. New ones, uninstalled, are around $75 each. However, I was able to find a used pair in excellent condition for 1/2 that.
