Something's missing...

Hello:-)

Picked up my Mini a bit ago. Got it used and I absolutely adore it! I did notice however the other day that the grille is missing something, so I am wondering if someone can tell me what it is so I can replace it.

For perspective's sake it is the lower left hand side facing the car. I am certain that hole is there for some reason! Frankly it is messing with my ocd...

It's called a Towing eye finisher.

I think the part # is 51-11-7-069-328 and it runs about 10-12 bucks

It looks like you have the Aero Kit, if so - the part number is:

51-71-0-152-022

It's worth replacing for the sticker alone! Appreciate the lead:-)

Or, just use the OEM one that is inside your tool kit.

If only it were that simple...nothing that even remotely resembles a tow hook in there. Thanks though:-)

The OEM tow hook doesn't fold down like #20's does. It is just an oval with a screw.
Here is mine...painted to match.
Sorry I don't have a better picture with only the hook, but you can see the shape you should find in your tool kit.

Oh it's in there.... you just have to know where they hid it... If you actually FOUND you tool kit then you would find it. It is hidden beside your battery in a piece of black foam that looks to be just cushioning for the battery...

Unless the PO lost it or took it out, you have to go find the Tool kit in the foam.

What a great picture..... Love it! Could be used in a Mini Ad!!

Please always ask about mine, some just don't get it! I tell them it turns my Mini into a SUV when I need it.

I chose this style hook as it doesn't protrode out too far to injure anyone and obviously I would never use this as an actual towing hook.

I thought mine was missing...

but it's in the tool kit which looks like a foam cushion right of the battery.

"Pull to Inflate"... very cute indeed.

Great Cadenza, I'm glad you found your tool kit. Everyone should know where that is. An emergency is not the time to try to figure it out.

Thanks on the props for the picture. It was my daughter's first mod. She dropped it in the gravel the first time she tried to install it. The paint got chipped & I had to sand & paint again. The second time I let it dry longer just incase, but she got it right

I've never been asked directly about my "Pull to inflate", but I have had people stop walking, right in front of my car, look down, pause, get a confused look & walk away. That's enough to make me smile, so it's all good!

Oh, if anyone asks, You pull the hook for H1 mode...Maybe I should change the sticker to that...Hmmm..."PULL FOR H1 MODE" I kinda like it.
