Hey,
I was just wondering
what kind of MINI you would get (MC, or MCS)
what options
color
and so on.
I have a red w/white "S", with the 17" wheels, and that is it. I didn't think I needed anything else. Now, I think that if I did it again, I would still get the red w/white, 17" wheels, but I would get the cruise control, radio buttons on the steering wheel, and I think I would save the rest of my money for the aftermarket speed mods.

I would have been a little more patient and hunted around a little more to find a non-demo on a lot somewhere. But hey, I got the one I wanted exactly.

I'm not really sure the DSC was worth it on mine. I did get exactly the car I wanted, though, and it was worth the wait for getting all the options I wished for.

I didn't have a choice, it was take one off the lot, and be the 8th one, or wait nearly 3-5 months. Happy with it, it is so cool.

I definitely wouldn't change the current car I have... but I wouldn't mind adding a second and a third stablemate...

One would be an all black MCS with aero kit, dark rims, and smoked lights...

Another would be a full rally configuration... stripped down MC or MCS, 3 or 4 huge rally lights, custom paint job...

So many MINIs so little time!!!

I got one that was about to be delivered. If I could have waited...

MCS instead of MC. No sunroof. White roof. Union jack on top. Red, Yellow or Blue (BRG is pretty dark).

I'd change from an almost fully loaded ds/w S to a striped(read that as NO options) jet black and white S....oh wait....I sold the DS one and have the black one now

I'd get a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Competizione. Red.

I would have looked at the "space cloth". I still haven't seen it -- just photos. The dealer showed me cloth and didn't even notice that I had vomited on it. I went with vinyl and love it, but I wish I had at least seen the cloth.

P.S. I wish people would stop bashing DSC. It's one of the most valuable safety technologies since airbags (remember how folks used to complain about those?). If DSC ever intervenes, it's because you're just about to die. The MINI's tendency to shut down the engine at the slightest hint of wheelspin is a result of hamfisted ASC programming, not DSC.

I was so close in deciding between 2 colors that I took the first available one that was offered. I had mine ordered, but at the time, the Indi Blue wasn't available in the 'S' model. So I opted for Dark Silver. If I were to do it all over again, I'd go with the double Indi Blue. Right now I'm fairly content with my double Dark Silver. No regrets. But that would be the only thing I'd change. Oh, and maybe the HK sound. That wasn't available yet either at the time of ordering. But 6 speakers is good enough for me. We'll see what the future hold for the MINI. I may just trade mine in for some better one that comes along. Like a JCW equipped 'S' or something.
Cheers,

If the DSC kicks in you are far from about to die...i've had it kick in on my first S all the time when having fun in the car....and it annoyed the hell out of me. I can't even stand the ASC and plan on pulling the fuse on that and see if it mucks anything else up.

If i want traction control i would go with a racelogic unit that is a million times better then what the DSC will ever be.

probably:

lose the DSC
go with the manual AC
Black leatherette instead of lapis leather ( I love the lapis, I dont think it will last)

But the option packs are laid out fairly stringently.

I'm very dissapointed in the auto AC in that it was apparently programmed by the same moron who wrote the ASC code. It does, however, keep the temperature -- auto or not. All I have to do is occasionaly adjust the fan speed and it does the rest. So although it is not the fully automatic system I had in my 91 Nissan, it is still much better than full manual -- and *much* better looking too!

I have a dark silver w/black "S", sunroof, and cruise control/multi function steering wheel. It was the exact one I wanted. I was a little worried 17's will be a harder ride compared to the already stiff suspensions.

But again, I'd still be tossing b/w dark silver and electric blue w/white. Also I would invest in HK sounds cos the speakers are so hard to change.

 I haven't even purchased mine yet but I will be visiting a local dealer here in California this weekend to inquire about this set up. The car is due to arrive at the dealership in a week. I'll be putting a deposit on her if I'm happy with the pricing.

2003 MCS
jet black with black roof and mirrors
17 inch wheels (v-spoke)
black interior
DSC
sunroof, that's it.

Pretty simple, though I would have settled for standard all the way. I can't stand to wait any longer so I'll settle for this MINI for the right price of course. The sales person said this MINI has a "partial premium" package. I was just relieved that this was the only immediately available standard (somewhat) MCS in any of the dealerships around. The other dealerships that have in stock MINIs are fully loaded and costs around 27k. I plan on tinting and changing the audio set up with aftermarket prods. before lowering the car or any other mods.

I bought a lot car that is a standard Mini, with the exception of the sunroof. If I had a second chance, I would only change the color to Pepper White, w/ black top and sunroof.
