It's almost over...

The Wait...... It's almost over.

You know - it's almost been a grueling experience.

Buy a Mini , or not.
An '06 or '07.
An MC or an MCS.
The color(s)
The options. Sunroof, Xenons, LSD, DSC, wheels,
The costs.

AAaaagh. over and over, over and over.

Then wait.. for months...

So in the meantime I read thru NAM posts... compulsively... every day..
and ALL the zillions of comments, .. kudos... problems... warnings... mods...

I've only had two reasonably short test drives before deciding to take the plunge, and order '06 MCS last August, and I take delivery TOMORROW!

Finally, a chance to get my OWN observations...
to spend more than 15 minutes ( IE. test drive )
to finally experience the 'crazy' fun of a Mini.

The Wait.... it's almost over...

Why do I get the image of someone who hasn't slept or eaten in days?

most of us have been there. It's a great memory for me now...THE WAIT. 3,000 miles later...Awesome.

I'm still compulsive about hitting the NAM forum, if only to a catch things I missed before or to see how it all makes sense now.

Question is, will you sleep tonight.

Hey HyperBlueRider!

Congrats to you! You too had to deal with the whole issue of: - to get an 06, or wait for the 07. !!

I wasn't REALLY ready to pull the trigger when I visited my dealer in Early August for my first real look at the Mini. I wasn't aware of this huge model change.

So all of a sudden it was : grab an available slot for an '06, or get a brand new '07 design. I felt hurried, but ultimately decided I liked the '06 and the only way to get one was buy it new, as I didn't want to deal with the used market down the road - so : boom I ordered one.... and tomorrow - I'll be drivin' it!

Let us know how it goes!
M

Congrats... Once you drive your MINI, you'll never be able to go back... Plan your route once you pick it up... bring some good tunes to listen to as well. Feel the MINI pull through the RPM range... Of course, staying within the break in limits...

Been there, done that. ALL of that.

4 weeks and 1900 miles later, STILL obsessed,
wife even more incredulous,
list of stuff I MUST have even longer, :impatient
my kids asking me why I'm obsessed with my MINI...
I'm having a BLAST. Hope this lasts a long, long time.

It's worth the wait. Really.

Thanks! Now down to 6 hours, and counting.

Will be tough to get work done this AM as I'm taking off after lunch to go in and get the car.

MA said the process takes 60 - 90 minutes.

Grin from ear to ear........8-)

Congrats MiniMel - my wife and I picked up our new MCSa two weeks ago. You're in for a real treat today. And from what we've experienced so far that feeling doesn't go away. I still sneak out to the garage at night to take a look at our new arrival.

Enjoy

Congrats!!

Being on of the "older" set, there are not many moments that give as much pleasure as driving a new car out of the showroom.

Ok, I don't have a life, but not only picking up a new car, but a MINI, is very special.

Enjoy the moment.

Eeh Hah, the Eagle has landed! ( actually, I think " Oscar " , but I haven't officially named 'him' yet )

What fun to go to the dealer, and walk amongst the dozens of prepped mini's, and find my PS/B sitting in the row, and know THAT ONE was MINE!

Had to be careful on the way home to stay within the speed limit because all of sudden you're doing 75 ( in a 55 ). Didn't want to add a speeding ticket to my day! ( again, thanks to NAM for this advice! )

After my 20 minute drive home. Then - I actually had to do work in the afternoon, and had commitment last night - and this AM !!-- so it will be this afternoon before I can just take the new car for a drive. I'm not sweating it because I'm goin to have the car for a long time, so a few more hour wait ( at this point ) is no big deal.

Will get a picture up soon, and thanks to everyone for their support for the last 3 months!

Eeh Hah ( as we say here in Orygun ) ..

Hey, we used to live in Hillsboro! Small world! Have you seen those town homes at Orenco Station? We used to live right there, just by Merchant of Venice. I liked it up there, but my wife couldn't take the cold.
