FINALLY a MCS owner
FINALLY a MCS owner
After nearly 10 years of dreaming about it, I finally own a 2005 MCS named Jackie. I have been a gear head since I was old enough to hold a wrench and have in my professional life have worked as a suspension mechanic among other things. My real name is Joe, and I have lurked around NAM for some time now, but it was time to register and participate.
I am a welder/machinist by trade, so hopefully I can contribute as much as I will ask the veterans to contribute to me.
Introduction over... Now I'm off to install my new DDM intercooler diverter, Magnacore wires, Brisk plugs, Cravenspeed 15% pulley, and new ALTA intercooler boots (provided I can get the darn things on, I've heard its a PITA
) Thanks for having me in the NAMily, I'm stoked to be here.

Thanks and sure, they are hiding in my profile, but here they are too:

This is Jackie the day I bought her

This is a shot of the new DDM Works diverter and the Magnacore wires, my ALTA boots and a few other bits were supposed to arrive today, but alas UPS is making me wait till Monday
Sadly I can't seem to get the full size images to load into the post, so thumbs have to do

I know, I can't wait to get it installed, I'm gathering parts for a pretty sizable "overhaul" while I have it in front end service mode. So the pulley and new belt are sitting on my toolbox tapping their feet being impatient lol.
I really need to talk to Way about clutch kits, I'm so sick of the stupid dual mass flywheel, its got to go!

Congratulations on your Mini ownership. Took me ten years to finally get my R53. The upgrades never seem to stop. It's great to finally be driving a fun car again. While in service mode, don't forget to replace the crank sensor o-ring.
The bad thing is that the punch list grows faster than the money to buy all the parts lol... alas that is the price you pay for buying a gen 1 MINI
