Window mounted navigation

I just got the Garmin 330. It has a widow mount. Does anyone know how well these hold up to being moved from car to car? New it looks to have some sort of protector film over it. Does the surface degrade making it not stick as well?

Thanks

I moved it a few times between my tuck and my MINI but I eventually just shelled out an extra $30 and bought a second mount w/plug. MUCH simplier.

PS - the film is supposed to come off before use - it's just a protector for shiping.

In these here parts an empty mount is synonomous with "let's crash in the window and break into the glovebox just to see nothing's there". hence, i tend to remove the mount as well. sad, huh? (love the portability though!)

Found a use for the cup holder

I tried the suction mount to the windshield and the face of the speedo. I now use a strip of velcro and wrap it around the unit sitting on the cup holder.
Where can I find info on posting a large picture instead of the thumbnail?
