Flat Tire Light....

Ok, I give. I actually had a flat tire with my run flats. Works as advertised...flat tire...light came on. Replaced the tire, oh that's right the one with only 1,500 miles on it, and can't seem to get the darn light out. How do I reset the light? I have pushed the button by the e brake, and driven it...but it stays on. Any ideas or am I just missing a step??

I know, be smarter than the car.

Push and hold the button by the ebrake until the Flat Tire Monitor light stays lit, then release and drive away. First time is always the worst time.

I have a hard time with that light every time it's come on ... maybe (6) times. I usually push the reset button, release the e-brake, push the button, start the car, release the e-brake, push the button, drive down the road, push the button while braking .... eventually one combination clears the light. Good Luck!

I've always wanted to say this - RTFM :

Initializing the system
The system must be reinitialized immediately after changing a tire
and wheel, or after correcting the pressure in any tire. This requires a bit of driving.
1. Before a journey, start the engine, but do not start driving
2. Press the button long enough for the indicator lamp in the display elements
to light up for a few seconds
3. Drive off. It takes a few minutes before the Flat Tire
Monitor can detect a flat tire and issue an alert.

Good luck with it - I always forget to reinitialize it until I'm driving down the road.

I've been wondering about the monitor myself. The way it's worded sounds like I've got to reinitilize the system everytime I drive. I've also tried to press the button till the light comes on, but it never turns off. I can then turn the car off and back on again to clear the light.

Double check the tire pressures. Get them exactly the same if possible.

Turn off MINI.
Start MINI.
Press and hold reset button for five seconds or until the light turns ON.
Drive away and it'll turn itself off in a few seconds.

For the record... I did read the manual. But when the indicator light is already on, and stayed on for 20 plus miles after holding the button. I thought there might be something I missed.

All is well. I held the button a few more times, and drove it on a long trip. It finally went out.

Two adults in my household have not proven capable of turning that light off according to any manual or NAM instructions. We have come to realize it turns itself off after a short while.
