The Tanabata sails tomorrow! (08/08/02)

My mini was loaded on at 13:07 today.
Does it have any buddies travelling with it?
I'd love to know, Man I'm so excited!

I would love to say yes, but unfortunately, mine arrived on Monday on the Isolde. :smile:

ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh....me, me, me, me, me!!! I'm on there, too!!! Scheduled to arrive on the 22nd...yay!!! I'm hoping to take delivery sometime early Sep - yay!!!! Cross your fingers!

 

Yes!!! Our MINI Cooper was also loaded into the Tabanata this morning at 8:37AM (UK Time) and according to the WW site, the car was booked at 4:08PM (UK time). The vessel should already have left the Southhampton port on its way towards Charleston, SC and is is scheduled to arrive (If everything goes smoothly) on 8/22. After the car arrives the only other 2 hurdles left to deal with will be the port of entry and the SC distribution center. Then again, if all goes well, I figure another 2 weeks before it reaches the dealer here in South Florida by early to mid September!!!

So in the meantime, our MINIs will be enjoying a long 13 day vacation "Cruise" trip accross the Atlantic

PS: Our car left the Oxford factory yesterday 8/7/2002!

 

I think the callsign of the Tanabata is wcz5535 if you want to see if it makes a report on oceanweather.com. This only shows a ship if it has reported weather conditions from a location in the past few hours so you aren't always able to see it. I wish there was a way of seeing it's progress in real time. It's a long time until the 22nd, with no new info, when you are as excited as I am!

I checked Oceanweather.com and NADA. Oh well, it will be another month or so before we can take delivery..but the anticipation to the delivery day makes the whole experience worth it IMO.

 

I just found out that my baby has boarded the TANBATA and should arrive in Charlston on 8/22. I hope he is well manored and gets along with the other MINIs. :smile:

 

Guess what guys? During one of my daily checks on the WW site to make sure my car was still loaded on the Tanabata, I noticed the arrival date at SC was 8/21 - 1 day sooner than we all expected! Yay!
