Want to improve driving experience?
If anyone has not driven in anything like these, I would suggest trying them.

I have the Monaco's, listed under race performance. Pretty stiff, great pedal feedback. Surprisingly not hard (to me anyway) on your back or feet after a day in them. And, I'm either standing or walking in them for 8-10 hours a day. I can tell a big difference in sensation between these and the Chuck Taylors I used to wear.

Can I be a test subject for these shoues? I'm a postal worker and go through 8 sets of shoues a year. I can test them for comfort and durability. Just kidding, though it would be fun
I will second Hemihead's opinion. I have a pair of Piloti Spyders, and I love them. They are so comfy, even if you have to do a lot of standing. And, I love the different fabric (suede?) on the right shoe, that is OBVIOUSLY made for heal & toeing.
here is a pic of mine:

I have three pair of Piloti's and love two them ( Prototipo and Spyder)
but the Strasse has too much padding on top and hurts my toes.
Driving shoes really do improve the driving experience,
especially on long trips.

Yeah? Well - Lumberjacks have to drive, too, ya know?
Some Keens are lumberjack-y.
Some aren't. Their sandals rock.
The things they all have in common are (1) a fantastically comfortable midsole and (2) a great shape for rolling on your heel and (3) toe protection. The styles with more "lugged" soles probably aren't great for driving. But the styles with "razor cut" soles are smooth and grippy. I can drive, hike, raft, etc in their sandals and never fear for the protection of my feet... though I doubt that they are race approved...
I was a Birkenstock guy 20 years ago (and at one time owned 5 pairs I think). I tried Keens in 2005 and now have 4 pairs of those and will have more come spring. I'd wear nothing but Keens the rest of my life if I could get away with it. And I'm not even from the West coast...
But the Piloti's look nice, if you're into euro-looking driving shoes...

I too have the same problem, 8 1/2 EEE. Would anyone know if one brand, or style, is wider than others. Thanks, Steve

my first set of Piloti Monacos lasted 4 years and I am now on my second pair.
If I am not wearing my hiking boots, I am probably wearing my Pilotis.. .

The ITCH,
I too have EEE feet. My size is 11 EEE, and I find that my size 11.5 spyders fit very well. They were a bit snug at first. But, they broke in very well when I was standing around all day @ the monterey historics last year. Geez, can I really say that, MTTS was LAST YEAR....wow how time flies....

As I said, New Balance is the only brand I find in sneakers that you can usually find wide sizes in. The 8 1/2 are usually all gone though.. =(
