Finally got my personalized plate...

I bought my MINI from NAM member Coop d'etat and because of title issues, I couldn't register this car until today. I was sooooooooo relieved to not be driving on expired out of state tags!

And for those worrying about whether an Alta Intake (non CARB approved) might cause you to fail a Smog Inspection--it presented no issues today. I got smogged just fine with the Alta.

That's funny. It's the SLICK difference. I didn't Slick it for the WI plate, and then I realized it could use some cleaning, so I QD'd with Slick, and interesting how much of a difference that made. Or maybe my MINI was just glowing and happier with CA plates.

I absolutely love it! You have insipred me now to go apply a few coats of wax to my boot .

By the way...where did you get the custom license plate bracket? I have been meaning to get rid of my stock "dealer supplied" one for a while now...

Thanks! I thought of this plate over 3 years ago when I got my first MINI, but for various reasons, wasn't allowed to get the plate I wanted until now...I always thought having an S would be more suitable for this plate---so I ordered it, and 2 months later, this "S" kinda dropped into my lap.

That frame is something I bought from Target for $7. I printed the tag on it with my Tektronix Phaser color laser printer on some Lectraset repro film. Not exactly what I'd recommend today, but that's how I made it 3 years ago. I would probably do it in vinyl today.

The time difference was to remove old plate and put on new one--oh and QD between the two. Don't forget I handheld the camera, so there is a slight angle change--though not deliberate. You can see the reflection change of the house on the top of the boot lid, that will contribute towards the difference.

Um, Richard, I'm not sure you've earned that plate...I mean, do you have any proof that you're obsessed? ;-)

OctaneGuy that is a perfect plate for you.

How long did it take to get it?

Ordered mine about 7 weeks ago, still driving with the dealers paper plate

Thanks! Well I put the order in online around July 2006 and by September I got a notice saying that my plate arrived and I had 90 days I think to claim it otherwise it would be forfeited. Claiming meant assigned to an existing registration. The problem was that I had discovered my 2005 MCS at that time, and so it took from September until January to actually get the title and have it registered to me, and finally after that whole ordeal, I was able to claim my plates. Fortunately it shouldn't take 6 months for you.
