i let the wife shift my gear from the passenger seat

seriously though, the wife drives my MINI often enough. Though the MINI is my car, and her new Jetta 2.0T is hers, we swap back and forth on occasion if the mood strikes us

My MINI was shipped from New York, and I was at work when it arrived. The truck dropped it off on the street, and my wife had to drive it to my parking spot. The only problem was that she didnt know how to drive stick!!! So I had to teach her, over the phone, while I had clients listening (they were very very amused). My heart was pounding, but she did a very nice job.

I tried to teach my ex, but that was a disaster. Then we were on the blue ridge parkway, and she did wonderfully! Wanting her to retire on a good note, she never drove it again...and never will...

Cute girlfriend; I hope she's ok with you posting pics of her on the internet!

My Lady doesn't really like to drink, and I do (really like to). This is the only time she drives and probably the only time I would let her. It's never been an issue. My car, I drive. Plus she's a girl and can't drive that well.

You're clearly new here.

Uh....THANK YOU for taking the words right outta my mouth. Matter of fact, I've got a few more I'd like to pass along, but this is how flame wars get started...so I'll just toss in a few .

And some for good measure.

Boys, hmmph.

Actually been here for over a year, I know it's not that long compared to others but long enough to know that some people need to get a sense of humor.

My wife does not drive manual, sooo by default she does not drive my car. I have offered to teach. Yet, there are some things a husband should never try to teach there wife, even when asked to.

I guess I'm a bit different.
anyone who asks (that I know) can have the keys to my car. They break it they fix it, but I don't care who drives it. Even traded it for a Porsche Boxter for a weekend! I liked the mini more overall, but the Porsche had much better balance.... Heck, if more than one of my fun cars is running at one time, I'll let a friend drive whatever they want, we'll go through the hills, and trade back and forth! It's a trip going from a tight FWD to a looser 65 convertable with over 300 HP and tons of torque!

So you wouldn't post a picture of her if she wasn't so 'pretty'??

I let my BF drive my MINI the second day I got it. Long story short, he was turning around on a narrow road, put it in 1st instead of reverse and drove it into a small ditch, where the tires just spun. 4 hours and a tow truck later, the tow hook is still in my rear bumper (it's bent in there i think).

I vowed to never let him drive the MINI again, but felt bad a few days later... it was just a mistake... he was trying to be a badass and do something all fast and bad-***-like, like most guys do

But he drives the MINI now once in a while and I try to relax, he was humiliated enough as it was!
