congrats bro, but the you gotta figure the fact you didn't build the car up yourself has to factor into the lack of responses...

I'll say nice job on magazine #2 feature. Any more features like this and you won't want to drive for fear of whatever.

Well I should have expected this from Rally.

If by "builder" you mean the guy I bought it from - heck no! He was a punk and jerked me around in the end, he didnt derserve any props after that. Plus it was not in as good of condition as he had stated and needed tons of work when I finally received it, and I then spent around $3K on my own mods.
Plus, I have spoken to him once since and he was upset about what I had done to the car since I received it - chrome and all - like he had some sort of say in the matter. So no, there was no shout out to him, intentionally.

Perhaps I should have gave props to Haberstad MINI who the original owner had install the exhaust, intake, short shifter, and pulley, but I since I had neve met them I thought it better to give props to my super shop, Group 2 Motorsports, who were just as much teachers as they were mechanics which made me personally greatful. They deserved their shout out.

We love Rally...he's such a great trouble maker! Viva La Rally!

And that guy should never have sold it then. As far as he's concerned you could intentionally drive it off a cliff withfireworks shootong out of its boot and he has no right to say anything because he gave it up.

No trouble making from me...just was wondering since he made many of the styling decisions such as the body kit, custom subwoofer enclosure, stance, and i think the wheels (right?). Seems like much of the look of the car and what makes it different from other cars came from him.

lol I didn't know cow horns and diamond plate floor mats are so expensive...

as said above, the 3 main things that make the car stand out (i.e. system, body kit and rims) all were done prior to your ownership, and I think some of us would just feel awkward presenting that as our own creation in a magazine, but more power to ya for the press.

You are a funny guy Rally. Everyone knows that trouble making is all that you know

Yes, as Rally says "much of the look of the car and what makes it different from other cars came from him." The article also says this - if you read the article and pay attention (I know it must be hard to concentrate with my sexy pic staring at you) then you will see that the writer did say what mods came with the car when purchased, and then some cheezy line like "he still had to make someone elses dream his own." I thought that this accurately explained that a previous owner had picked out the body kit, wheels, and sub, etc, and that I took them in and wanted to add a bit of my own style so it felt more like mine. I don't see where it says that I claimed it to be all "my own creation."

When shopping for MINIs it makes perfect since to me to buy one already modded to my taste to save money on mods. No, I would have never designed a subwoofer encolsure like the one I have, but the body kit and 19" black wheels I definately would have picked myself, which is why I decided to buy this car and not something modded differently. So when I saw it for sale and that there was no mark up for the body kit and rims (and subwoofer), I just saw it as a great money saving opportunity. I don't know if you were familiar with the Cooper that I had before the MINITOR (it actually looke much like your Cooper Cangelosijeff, but covered in chrome), but I had done tons of mods to it and swapped out as much as I could to the MINITOR,

Furthermore, when the car was being sold it was listed as a "2003 MINI show car", and was advertised as being ready for car shows and magazines. The seller was well aware and supported the car being shown, and did not ask for any credits - quite the opposite. He did not want to be associated with some of the mods that I had done, specifically all of the chrome that I added.

Clearly we didn't read the article which is why our first question(s) were "did you mention the pervious owner?" which you deemed as trouble making.

In the end, its much like buying a Picasso, adding a little more paint, and then putting it in the gallery. You can either take credit for it and put your name on it as if you did the work....or you can say that most of the credit is due to picasso and you just added a little more. It sounds like you did the latter and that was all that i was asking if you look at my first post.

No hard feelings, congrats on getting his/your car into a mag

Hmm...maybe next time if you (and cangelosijeff and Dopamine) actually read the article then you wouldnt have to ask the snooty questions.

Jeff, Don't let Rally bother you. He means well.He saw pics of my motor once and said EWWWW. To each his own. He has givin me some cool links to some great products that i put on my baby. Your car rocks. I read the article from MC2. You did a great job making it yours. From one MC2 alumni to another. Keep up the good work.

Congrats on the multi-mag coverage Jeffro.

Thanks for the "shout-out" and sending me an issue as your x-mas card!

I really want to read the article in NewMINI featuring the "PACE Intercooler" install (http://www.paceproducts.co.uk/php/pr...uctID=car/mini), but I can't find the magazine locally (Seattle) & their Website (http://newmini.org/) doesn't actually allow you to subscribe.

Could someone please tell me where I can buy/order a copy?

Congrats Jeff! Saw it in Barnes and Noble a couple days ago. I was in there looking for the mag because stoopid girls car was there and was headslapped when I ran across yours by surprise.

Still wish we could've connected this summer in Portland at the Champ Car races. I wanted to see the car for myself.

Then you went and moved to Texas! .

I have a spread sheet with all the places who have it but unfortunately it's at home where I have no internet at the moment. It's at a lot of Barnes & Nobles, Borders, Waldon books, and Bookstars so call around. Seattle is a big enough city that one of those places is bound to have it.

There's a website you can order it from as well, it's listed under New MINI
www.universalnewsondemand.com
Hope this helps

Thanks StupidGirl!

I've been to Barnes & Nobles and Borders with no luck...

I've been into cars & bikes for 20+ years so I'm familiar with most of the book stores that sell UK magazines- I'll check the Website you suggested, too ; )
