Same here, but now that I has an MCS front bumper and an after market bonnet stripe from cooper flags there is no way.
That's pretty crazy, I haven't seen another car like mine either... actually I dont think I've ever seen another astro black Cooper S either.. except at the dealers
That's unusual (the twin part, not the pleasant chat...MINI owners are great like that, aren't they?). I think I'd freak out if I saw another MINI exactly like mine (same color and stripes I get, but same grille, lights, roof, euro plate...it would be bizarro world!).

My MINI has a indentical twin, inside and out, I had the opprotunity to have her instead of mine, the dealer said he could take it from the other dealer but I was nice and said they could have it. So if there is someone out there that just got a black cooper with a white roof and bonnet stripes with 16" 5 stars and an anthracite interior, you owe me a thank you
I bought a BRG MCS with white stripes in March of '03. Three months later my wife and I took a vacation from the SF Bay Area to the San Juan Islands, up near Canada. Once we got out of the Bay Area, we drove North, took the ferry from Anacordes to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. We didn't see another MINI on the whole trip. They were still pretty rare in '03.
Then, driving down a straight section of road on the island, I saw some familiar headlights coming from the other direction. They got closer and, sure enough, it was a MINI. In fact, it was a BRG MCS with white stripes! What'er the odds?

I know mine has a twin as well, it was sitting on the lot the day I went in for a test drive, the owner's of that one had put a deposit on it a couple of hours before I arrived at the dealer. I walked in the door with a clear picture of what I wanted down to the color and options. The car on the lot had a good subset of the features but it was spoken for... if it hadn't been, I would have driven it off the lot that afternoon...
I ended up waiting 2 weeks and getting the same identical car because the dealer had a dozen or so on a boat that was set to dock in Charleston a couple days later... I did have to add a couple of dealer installed options just to make her different...

I've seen my car's twin locally and it freaked me right out! It is an S, hyper blue/black with the black stripes - just like mine. I don't know if the wheels are web-spokes because I've only seen it in motion. I pass it maybe once a month (it is always going the opposite direction) or so on my way to/from school, and I think I've seen the same car once in Red Wing MN (it was the briefest of glimpses that time). I've waved and the other driver has waved back, but that is the farthest it has gone. I'm sure if I drove in Mpls/St. Paul more often I'd see more MINIs like mine, but I don't get over there that often.
I bought a head from someone
and when we met, we both had Chilli Red/White with no sunroof! And while our option packages were different, it turned out we had both bought from Mini of Murray in Utah, at about the same time, and our cars had been built during the same week (probably the same day) as our VINs differed by only 75!
Small world indeed.
