Anyone else have problems with the close pedals?

I've got size 13/14 feet and I'm finding that the peddles in the mini are too close together. Often when I hit the brake I'll also catch the gas with the side of my foot.

I will drive it normal for a while then switch to using only the toe part of my shoe to work the gas / brake after a few lunges due to hitting the gas when I don't want to.

Anyone else have these problems?

Same here. I wear a size 14, and it's not the lenght of the foot, it's the width. I have a very narrow A-width, but I can't find driving shoes in a narrow width.

Practice.

I was worried when I got my car in Feb but have not had any problems. I guess I may if I wore dress shoes but if I wear trainers I have no problems.

I switched to MOMO brake and clutch pedals (which are not as wide as the OEM pedal covers) and an aftermarket toe-heel gas pedal (which I mounted as far to the right as possible) to help solve this problem.

Wear ice skates - they have very narrow soles!

Chinese women used to bind their feet as children to keep them from growing. Maybe you should do the same. Warning, your feet may end up looking like this.

the pedals are close and I have a 8 1/2 foot at most. I wear **** kicking black leather boots though with steel toes. Still, they arent overly large. I find it hard to rest my left foot somewhere after i go cruising speed. They could have made it like 1 inch wider total the space. Only draw back so far.

the MCS with LSD/DSC 6-speed is a beast in the rain and crap-sandy roads near the beach.

I've had cars where this happened and it was down right scarry.

It's nice to see that I'm not the only one with the problem. It's my fiancees car so not sure if is worth switching out the peddels. I'm pushing for her to drive more so she can learn the 6MT.

I eventually got used to it. I do have one pair of work boots that are so wide at 14 that it's near impossible to drive without hitting two pedals at once, but rare was the time that I was needing those boots and driving the MINI. The truck has no issues at all.

Same here.
I have a pair of Doc Martens that are wide and always make me hit both pedals.
I don't have the problem with any other shoes.

I some times hit the brake and gas pedal at the same time... but just when I wear my formal shoes... they're kindda square (im size 12)... the toe technique worked to me.

On the Momo pedals

Yes - please. Pics and model # and source?

I'm 9.5EEEE and have clearance problems. I've adapted to driving with my foot at about a 45 degree angle, so that I'm mostly driving with my toes, but I'd like skinnier pedals.

OK, here is a picture. Yes, I know my interior is dirty. Yes, I know the paint is peeling on the gas pedal (that's because the moron who painted them didn't prep them properly...oh wait, that would be me!). Part #? You guys are killing me. I'll have to get back to you on that!

I hit the gas with the side of my foot while braking all the time... I just do it on purpose.

I noticed that on my test drive. My foot was scraping the side of the pedal I did not want. Got used to it quick but I have been thinking about remedies while I am waiting for mine to arrive.

I figure I will just wear my running shoes. They are a little narrower than my daily walking shoes.
