R50/53 Anyone else have problems with the close pedals?

pedals are set perfectly for heel/toe. or in my case left side of foot/right side of foot. I have a very wide foot wearing a size 10. I have no problems with any shoe that i wear including my timberlands and my Addidas sneakers which have a very wide toe.

the wider the shoe the easier to heel/toe.

Although I don't have problems with it, my taller coworker drove my MINI once and complained of the pedal size & placement.

As I understand it, the 2007 model has some changes in this department, so the problem may be limited to the first generation.

Only when I wear my flip flops do I have a prob. I do wish the bar going from the dash to the console wasnt so far over, it agervates my already bad knees at the age of 18
