Help with smoother acceleration

2004 MC Automatic

Any ideas to improve the jumpy acceleration?

I am not looking for horsepower mods, just any ideas to help with smoothing out the acceleration.

Possibly better gas?
Any injector cleaner experience?

Thanks

That is just how a MINI feels. Just tell yourself that it isn't jumpt, it's peppy.

You might try searching the forum, I seem to remember a few threads about this. I don't think there is anything you can do but it seems for most people it smooths out over time as the computer adjusts to your driving habits. If you bought your car off of the lot then there were multiple drivers and it might take a little longer.

Wish I could give more details but it seems to be a common thing with AT's.

Just picked up my MC (AT) on Thursday and have been noticing the same thing. I just figured that it had so much energy, that it couldn't wait to go fast. I do find it smoothing out though...either I am getting more used to it or it is starting to adjust.

its the weird cvt trans! its just going to jump when it tries to find the right "gear". it has no gears and thats why it jumps. go to howstuffworks.com and it will show you.
