Some newbie questions?

I just bought "Little Bit" this week and am continually amazed by this vehicle! It's a 2004 CM, you can see it in the Owners Lounge if you wish.....user name "Stone".

I have some questions?

1. I have read about clear bras, any input on cost and can I install it?

2. I read hear that there is an emergency fuel door release in the left cubby hole....I can't find it.

3. Can I change the oil myself?

4. It came with a basic radio and no CD player, can I have a new deck installed by an electronics store?

5. The noise when the sunroof is open is terrible, any input on what deflector to install?

Welcome

1. I have read about clear bras, any input on cost and can I install it?

depends upon who you buy it from, I was quoted prices of $500 - $1200. Not advised as DIY. Takes some training

2. I read hear that there is an emergency fuel door release in the left cubby hole....I can't find it.

It should be in your manual. If you haven't got a manual, go to http://www.motoringfile.com look for the manuals and download one.

3. Can I change the oil myself?

yes

4. It came with a basic radio and no CD player, can I have a new deck installed by an electronics store?

Sure

5. The noise when the sunroof is open is terrible, any input on what deflector to install?

Someone here should know

You can have an aftermarket deck put into your MINI. Do a search on her and you'll find recommendations & installation instructions.

You can do your own oil change as well... there is a write on that as well.

Welcome to NAM by the way

Emergency fuel door release......The manual says to open the panel, remove the first aid pouch and pull the lever back............I do not have a first aid pouch and there is no lever?

Maybe my car is a counterfiet!

I don't recall the emergency fuel release, but then again, I have never looked for it. My MINI didn't come with a first aid kit...

It appears I have a defective Mini!

I found the actuator and the cable that goes to the fuel door.....no lever! I wonder if they will give me a new car?
