Those are awesome! I just got back from a joyride! And it's nice to see MINI advertise the fun aspect over the mileage aspect.

Nice concept, but...

A 2,700 lb. load (the MINI in the ad) would require some serious roof re-inforcements.

Still, the ad was worth a chuckle.

I seriously doubt what is pictured are actual MINIs on the roof of the SUVs. I expect they are mockups.

They should have put roof racks and bikes on top of the "MINI" on top of the truck.

I think it is real. The guy in the first pic is looking right at the MINI probably thinking, "what the hell?".

I have seen Photoshop efforts that looked real down to the placement of shadows and reflections. The only way that I knew otherwise was due to having seen the real item - the Photoshop was one artists impression without having seen the real thing. Not saying the photo is real or Photoshopped; just that unless you have personaly seen the object(s) of the image, there is no way to know for sure with a good Photoshop artist.

Or perhaps... the MINI is a hollowed out shell of a MINI w/ no innards? (leaning off-topic: there are some really cool "photos" on the "real or fake" photoshop sites.here's one: http://www.autodesk.com/eng/etc/fakeorfoto/quiz.html)

Anything is possible (re. hollowed out shell of the MINI). However, the cost to make the hollowed out shell would pay for a lot of Photoshop time.

In fact, the more I look at the pictures, I think they are Photoshop efforts. The reflections are just not integrated. Also, some of the background seems to lack integration.

Those are pictures from an ad campaign that MINI did back in 02/03. They are not photoshops. There are plenty of other angles and pictures that have been taken over the years too. Love the idea, it was brilliant on MINI's part.
