R50/53 does this seem like a good price?

I really want a sunroof, but I really like the way this Cooper looks. Does this seem like a good price?

No, especially with out the sunroof. Do some research you can get a brand new stock mc for not too much more. When we decided to get a mini, we first looked at used, and then went to a dealer (in a different state) and couldn't belive that we could get a brand new mc for only $3k more.
Is that a JCW brake kit peaking through the front rim? Somebody did the Aero Kit Grill mod on it too.

If you feel you're getting a good deal then, who are we to say otherwise? Do your research and then decide what's best for you.
Just as a reference point, I purchased a new 06' MC for less than that.

The really don't give you alot of the details... The history of the MINI is great, but am I missing the options and mileage?? Options play a HUGE part in the MINIs price... Obviously no premium package, but what about sport or cold weather?? And they say that it has a compact spare; oops!! Definately do some more checking the the options, then build up a brand new one with the same options to see where that takes you!!
the dealer is a real tool, they must no nothing about this car, because I have asked questions and they hardly have any answers....I guess that is what I should expect from a FORD dealer. I am going to look at the car, it is about a 1 hr 30 min drive for me. I do notice the Aero Grill, and seems like the car has the fender molding painted to match the body, that isn't stock right?
I do know that the miles are at 37,xxx. Doesn't have the sunroof, does have cloth seats, no leather, not sure about anything else.

I agree with Jayde. The ad doesn't give enough info to make a solid judgement. I do like the body-color wheel arches and lower lips. The calipes may just be painted.
The sunroof is a personal thing. I hate it with a passion and would pay more for a car without one than for an otherwise identical car with one. As soon as I see "Premium Pkg" in the option list, the car loses about $2000 in value to me.

fender molding painting was never offered as an option, so yep,
it's aftermarket.
37k miles... that's kinda high for a 03. mine is less than 22k miles...well,
i do have 3 other cars...

simpsoap: your PM's are turned off.
But to answer your question:
A couple of reasons. 1. It's very loud when open (a MINI 'vert with the top down makes less noise), and 2. the lack of a real sun-shade makes it's brutally hot in the Summer. We get around this to some extent with sunroof decals.

Winter pkg ((I think it's called that (heated seats, washers etc)
Harmon Kardon Stereo
Xenon lights w/washer
f&R Fogs + rain sensor wipers
Ipod acc connection
Cordova leather sports seats and anthricite dash
1 month old Mini/BMW battery(checked with the CA. dealer who did it)
More .....and great shape too and no mods (I liked that)! Not against mods,,,Just I want to be the one who does them!
I paid $24,200 for my 04 MCS and thought it was a bit high. West coast is high on these). Problem was I WANTED THAN CAR and that color!
see my gallery
Go to kbb.com as a starting place! Most Non Mini dealers know NOTHING about them, but they sure know how to charge since they are in demand! Make sure it has 2 master keys and a manual at least if you get him into position (over $300 to replace!)
You may even look around the NAM site and Ebay too! There are a few on NAM and sometimes you save even with the airfare to fly out to look and buy!
Do your homework and never buy from emotion...( I did
...No regrets though)BTW: never liked sunroofs before...I LOVE THE ONE IN THE MINI!
Good luck and do shop around, or if that is the one for you...CHOMP ON THAT DEALER!
Hold on a minute!
I live just down the road from this dealer and have seen this car. You may not wish to hear this but It's a piece of junk. It's been abused, won't run right and it's been turbo'd converted. Sales guy I talked to says they'll be sitting on this one for a long time. I fired it up and and shut it right back down and decided to not test drive it it's that bad.

Build a new one on Mini's website and you may be surprised at how little of a differenece there is between new vs used. Took delivery of a '06 back in February and am reading the invoice (which is what I paid.) Here's the breakdown.
1. MCS: $20,600
2. Metallic paint: $450
3. Sport Package: $1,400
4. Multifunction Steering Wheel: $250.00
5. Chrono Packacke: $300.00
6. Destination: $550.00
Sub Total (everything except taxes and registration which are dependant on location): $23,550
Didn't order the sunroof because, on sunroof equipped cars I've owned in the past, I just didn't use it.
So $19,900 for a three year old car, with 37K and a unknown history, vs $23,500 for a new vehicle (understanding there may be differences in options)? Easy choice for me.
One more thing to remember. After market upgrades typically do not add to the resale price.
