Another quality e-bay offering. I wonder how this guy would have advertised this car if it was in cherry condition:
"Much, Much better than new"??

What a Shame...... <https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...on_cry.gif> At least he will not have to pay these prices for fuel till it gets fixed. Some humor on a sad post.
I agree, just like always, trying to make something sound better then it really is, but this one is kind of hard to lie on, dont you think?

ok i heard on the crash test that in a front angle hit at five miles per hour it runs bout 1500 in damage cause you need to straighten the frame now this on the other hand i garante was over 5 miles an hour the price to fix this is at least over 5000 if you count paint and parts and engine stuff and get it done quality then your looking at 19 to 20 k and its got 6000 miles to boot already, hell like she said you might as well buy a new one.....pluse it was hit already so that drops the worth value down considerably --------parts car id gove him 9k and strip it
this guy is nuts!!!! in my opinion ofcorse!!

I got hit right below the gas cap. The speed limit was 15mph and I was backing up. Oh yeah, the was also a stop sign right before that, like 75ft. before the accident site. There is no way the guy was going 15mph. Anyways, broke back side window, back window, and other stuff. $8000 dollars worth of damage!
A 'SALVAGE' title means the car was totaled by the insurance company. This means the body shop and insurance company deemed it not worth fixing. So if you bought it for 14,000 you could never get a true market value price if it was fixed up as the title will always have 'SALVAGE' on it.
If I'm not mistaken, that looks like the car Mugami wrecked last year on our drive to UVA - then thru the Blue Ridge Parkway. What a day that was - whew!!!
Good call Donna! From the geography in the background of those pics, I'd say that that MCS is sitting somewhere in western VA, eastern KY, WV, or western NC.
Also -- and I'm always amazed at the lack of understanding of issues related to insurance on this (and other) board -- when a car has a "salvage title" it is almost certainly NOT being sold by the person who wrecked the car!! A salvage title means that the car was bought at auction from the insurance company that wrote the car off as totaled. When your car gets "totaled" it technically is purchased (from you) by your insurance company, who then owns the car. At that point they unload it any way possible in an attempt to recoup some of their cost (yes, they get us both coming and going). Often, this means selling the car as "salvage" to someone willing to part it out or rebuild it. It used to be that state titles wouldn't have to reflect this passage through salvage status...but consumer reforms over the past decade or so have created the "salvage title" as a way of alerting ultimate buyers that their car has been salvaged in this way. Consumer Reports did a good story on this process about a year ago.
Anyway, it's highly unlikely that anyone selling the car could tell you how it was wrecked. They don't know.

You are right Jsun - because the only people that know how it was wrecked - were the people that were there that day - and we were literally - right behind him!
Most of the "good bits" are in in the front end? Who would pay $14000 for an uncertain amount of engine bay parts and some good galss and rear pannels and interior trim that we already own? If It was a classic and the wanted $140 It might be a fun fixer-uper. (
