A Question of Bonnet Stripes

HELP!!! I can't decide!!!

I have an "IOU Bonnet Stripes" promise from the Hank Aaron dealership in GA.
I could have them applied if I just drive over there and give them the document.

What I am wondering is, is it fitting for the "MC" have stripes, or is it just a "MINI S" thing?

Thanx, ParrishBlue, a MC Driver

Here is a shot from last week.

If you want them, get them! By no means are they a MCS only option. Wear your stripes proud!

I have an MC with stripes.

I think it is more a "MINI" thing than a "Cooper/Cooper S" thing.

Get the stripes. If you don't like them, they are just big stickers and will peel right off.

Check out the following thread for pictures of identical stiped MC & MCS side-by-side. They both look equally sharp. The photos are big so it may take a few seconds to load.

Remember, the Coopers are the hard working ones. We S drivers all have the luxury of extra power to make up for any laziness or lack of skill. You guys deserve the stripes!

If you plan to have a clear bra installed, do it BEFORE the stripes!

So the stripes can go over the bra? I'm thinking of changing the color but keeping the same design . . . my current stripes are under the bra. Can I go over the bra and over the current strips with the color change?

Yes, you can do that. If I were you, I would order a new set of custom stripes which are about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wider to ensure that you completely cover up the old stripes.

Keep in mind Coopers are 'sport' model MINI's. The Mini One is the 'base' MINI which isn't imported to the US. So either a Cooper or Cooper S is paying homage to the Mini's sporting past. Stripes most appropriate.

Defo stripes! I can't imagine a MINI without them... Now you just have to decide what type: solid, pinstripe, sport...

Stripes!

My husband, who is the most frugal of men, still insists that my MC Cabrio (currently en route) has to have stripes. I think they look great either way, but the stripes definitely give the MC a sportier look.

I'll do it!

Now just have to set aside the time to go to Georgia. I think I'll claybar it before I have them put on, not too familier with the clear bra. I'll look into in though.
Thanx for the help guys!

Stripes, definitely. Like someone said, if you don't like 'em, just peel 'em off. Personally, I think the car looks UNFINISHED without them, but that just might be me.

My MC came with bonnet stripes. I just recently added some boot stripes to match. They add so much more to the car, I think there a bit plain looking without the stripes.

Go get them installed if you don't like them peel them off. After all it's free, you have nothing to lose.

you have to do what you like there aren't really too many do's and don't when it comes to styling your mini. Everyone has their own opinions, just go with yours. If you're questioning whether or not to get plain or more customized stripes check out either aestheticreations or cooper flags (both in the vendor directory). The fun part of having a mini is making it yours.

I'm going to agree that they are a MINI/Mini thing.

Find a pair you like and go from there! I like the big V one on a Cooper

Go with the stripes if you like 'em. It's your car and your choice. PLUS...they look soooo cool.

I love my (black OEM) stripes, but they sure are a pain to maintain. hard water spots have embedded so deeply in the vinyl that the dealer may have to replace them under warranty.

Be forewarned: they are high maintenence. JB
