Welcome to MCO!

You might want to check out MINI2. It has more international members than MCO. IMO, it's somewhat more technical than MCO. Less fun, but more business. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

I am a member of both MCO and MINI2. I like MCO because everyone here seems like a friend and they won't flame you - even when you are stupid! I like the MINI2 because there are international members and I really like reading the posts and looking at the little country flag to see where the person is. It's odd to read about some problem that a person is having in Scotland or Ireland with a dealership, or with rude drivers, etc...

You will like reading both of the forums!

I think that we should pay more attention to http://www.roadfly.com it is one of my favorites due to its simplicity (to me) i just wish there were more people

i quit posting on roadfly for a few reasons.

1. topics just scroll out of sight in a day or so, so the same questions get asked over and over and over...

2. the whole board has a very negative vibe. it seems like complaints outweigh the compliments by a wide margin.

I like the way this board and MINI2 are set up. People seem much friendlier here.

and more on topic: the only other MINI related boarda I check are a couple of regional Yahoo groups. Local message boards are great for setting up events and meeting neighbors with the same MINI passion.

If they lose the popups, they'll get more people.

Just a suggestion.

there's a yahoo group for mid-atlantic mini motorists or something like that that my girlfriend heads up. not sure of the web address, but i'm sure if you went to yahoo groups, and typed in "mid-atlantic mini", i'm sure something would pop up.

There's also the MINI chat room, although it's been fairly unpopulated lately... Also the subject matter doesn't tend to be car-related

I totally agree. I've been posting on there for years but have recently lost interest.

Actually some of you may be interested in checking out my site: bridger.us/mini

- sorry for the blatant self promotion

Roadfly is the LEAST interesting of the forums. Many of the posting are just the titles- that's all you see. Interesting title/reply, then nothing there. I like to know what people have to say. 'Nuff said.

Cooperspeed, I mean this with the best of intentions, but I've got to say that your young minimotorers are going to be BLIND minimotorers if you don't change that font It's just the creepiest thing I think I've ever seen.

Of course, maybe the problem is that I'm no longer young

Good luck with the site!

here's another ex-roadflier!
I quit roadfly too, even though I like their layout and ease of use (more so in fact than MCO): it's easy to read and keep track of posts (ok, recent posts at least), and to immediately see which post is in response to which other post within a thread.
That said, there are only two forums, the main board and the lounge. While I enjoyed them for some time, and while there is quite a bit of technical experise on that board too, the recent posts that had started in the off-topic lounge were so much increasing in antagonism and acrimony that I first quit the lounge, and then the main board when that spilled over to the main area. After that, once of the things I cam e to appreciate about MCO is that it is easier for me to stay away from negative posts, or those political ones that I do not care to read.
Now that I have gotten used to the more complex setup of MCO, I quite enjoy it. In due time, I may start to check in on Roadfly again.
Cheers, y'all!

Gabe - I really like your site. I've been checking it out since I found it a couple of months ago. Tons of good info. & nice pics. I'm originally from the Chicago region now living in Colorado. Although I absolutely love Colorado for too many reasons to mention - I do enjoy the Chicago drive pics. Chicago has some wonderful places to go. Great site!!! Check it out. Bridger.US/MINI

BTW - MCO RULES!!! I've learned so much on this site and the people here are just the greatest.
